For anyone who hasn't been to the airport in the past year it is worth visiting as there has been an incredible amount of time and money put into the infrastructure of the airport. They have increased the length of the runway, put in a beautiful new office, purchased new rental aircraft, are putting up lots of top notch new hangar space and more. It is a great place to fly out of, as the people are very friendly and helpful!

What more can one say . . . Tom O'Connell is one of the best CFI's I've had the pleasure to learn from. I spent two days at Twitchell's with Tom recently and it was awesome . . . The folks that come in to fuel or just watch the "newbie’s" learn were truly incredible folks. On my second day I created wakes on at least 5 area lakes and the river on which Twitchells' Seaplane Base sets . . . The extended paved runway was also nice. Cannot wait to go back and get that rating (fingers crossed).

SES rating is the most fun I ever had, and these folks really know how to do it right. Been through airline training several times now, but my true love is still G.A. Spent the weekend at Twitchell's last month getting the rating and had a ball doing it. Very friendly easygoing people from the office people to the instructors. Still the only place east of the Mississippi that you can actually rent after you train. Highly recommend it; the most fun you will ever have flying.

Absolutely my favorite airport. Everyone in the FBO building is friendly and no matter who you are instructed by, they are all great instructors. I have had the privilege of flying with all of the instructors there, and I have never found a more fun bunch of people to fly with and be instructed by. They recently had a crew re-seal the runway fixing some of the cracks in the asphalt runway. Well run and friendly airport, like I said, my favorite bunch of people and airport.
