I stopped at Ashland (3G4) today rather than MFD after reading the reviews on AirNav.com. This is a great small airport with very nice people. Business takes me to many airports each year, and this is one of the best small FBO's that I've been to.

This is exactly how an airport should be. Ashland is a very nice quiet, friendly airport. If you are anywhere near here, take the time to stop in and get some fuel. You will leave with a smile on your face. I am based nearby but try to fly here for fuel. I always get service with a smile and a nice cup of coffee. Last week, I had a mechanical issue with my plane (wouldn't start), Denny dropped everything on a Sunday evening to help get me going. Thanks Denny!!

The Ashland county airport has one thing that many other airports do not have, People that care!! The airport manager and a pilot named Steve helped my son and made him feel comfortable at the airport. I recommend anyone that wishes to have a good experience at an airport, or take flying lessons to go to Ashland county airport. They made an old retired pilot feel good and welcome.

Very accommodating management, convenient and reasonable fuel costs. For IFR clearances you can pickup MFD Departure on 124.2 on the ramp (but not at the departure end of 19).

Stopped in on my way to and from Oshkosh and fueled the plane. On the trip out they had the best fuel price around. On my return trip I was caught behind some marginal weather, they were great at making my wife and I feel at home. They fed us burgers and helped with our return route planning on the weather/planning PC. They offered us a ride to town for a hotel if we needed it. Great place to stop on a trip. I'll definitely keep this airport in mind for future stops in Ohio.
