Nice turf runway, well maintained. Great place to stop, stretch your legs and have a bite to eat at the restaurant.

A group of 16 were there for the annual TX Aviat Husky Fly-In over the wkend of Oct 10-12 and had a most excellent time. The "deluxe" units on the runway are absolutely where you want to stay. Those down near the Marina are OK but not nearly as nice for the small diff in $. The food @ Pelican's was terrific as was the service. If you have a larger group they will take care of you. Bottom line? We rebooked for next year. The owner Rich is a terrific guy with a Bonanza and a Murphy Moose on amphibs. Go to Sherman for gas- an unheard of $4.18/gal on 10/12.

A little over a year ago, the place was flooded and closed. Today, the grass strip is better than ever--they do a great job of keeping it mowed and maintained. Even has lights (although best for departure rather than arrival unless you are VERY familiar with this field.) Don't let the trees or the big oak tree on the approach to Rwy 25 spook you. Plenty of room to clear. Pelican Landing (restaurant) is only a short walk away and the food/prices are great. Super place for a fly-in or hamburger hop.

Flew in for a day fishing trip. Field was in great shape for a turf airfield. Rwy 25 approach is interesting over the water with a very large oak tree just to the left of the threshold. Tiedowns on the south side are easily marked. Restaurant is top notch for fly-in hamburger run.

Flew up on 19th of July. Lake water had risen due to the heavy rains. Runway was closed. Had water up to about midfield. Marina was FLOODED only the roof was above the water line.
