Very nice Airport! We saw the Constellation down there on our way from Page to Sedona and decided to land there. We were greeted very friendly - when we entered the terminal, we were surprised to see around 8 fully restored cars, the oldest dating back to 1908. We were then offered a courtesy car to the next restaurant after which we visited the adjacent museum, with around 30 fully restored (and some still airworthy) aircraft - including a private visit to the insides of a fully flyable Lockheed Constellation. Just before our departure we got a private tour through the hangars by the airport manager to see an original Ford Tri-Motor and other airworthy rarities from the 20's and 30's. Very nice visit and very nice airport. The only negative I could say would be about the slightly bumpy runway on takeoff, but that was no problem for our 182. I definitely will fly here again!

I know that there are already plenty of reviews stating what I am about to say, but here goes anyway. Landed at Valle Airport for a nice day trip. The service was excellent, very friendly and the fuel prices were far below KGCN, which at times seems to believe that they are the only airport at the Grand Canyon. Really enjoyed the antique car display in the terminal lobby and was truly surprised by the excellent annex of the Planes of Fame museum from Chino, CA that is located next to the terminal. Huge building, great displays, really cheap.... All in all an excellent experience from beginning to end. If you have kids, wander over to the Flintstones Village. It's all within walking distance. A great thru-stop if you are passing nearby, or an excellent place to spend a few hours if you are looking for an interesting day trip. Truly a gem in the absolute "middle of nowhere"!

Fuel price was almost $2 less that KGCN. Super helpful. Arranged rental car for after hours arrival. Larry was still there to tow the plane to a save tie down in the high winds. Took credit card over the phone so we could make a very early departure and Larry even showed up to tow the plane out onto the ramp and top off the tanks for the 6am departure. Way more attention to service than KGCN. We got the car for the week and still saved compared to KGCN. Extra driving could not have been more than 15 minutes. We will be back. Thanks Carolyn and Larry!

What a great day trip! As we tied down we were met by staff in a golf cart asking if we needed anything, fuel, courtesy car. Checked out the hangar with the Ford Tri-Motor and found several restored planes and cars inside, even a very rare Hudson Pick-up. The terminal is also lined with restored cars and motorcycles. The Planes Of Fame museum was smallish, but full of interesting planes and artifacts. Since we flew in we got a free tour of the Connie that was there. It had been the private plane for Gen Macarthur. 1/4-mile walk to restaurant or diner. Don't miss it!

Excellent airport. Very quiet. Good fuel prices. Near the Grand Canyon. They have a very nice building with beautifully restored cars, and we were told they all drive. There is a museum on the field, but we didn't have time to go. We were shown a hangar full of antique airplanes that almost look brand new (all of which fly). Normally, a flying Ford Trimotor is based there, but when we flew through it was in Page, AZ for maintenance.

Stopped in to fuel up before flying the Grand Canyon corridors. We were the only plane there. Runway is in decent shape but the friendly FBO warned us how to avoid the gravel taxiway. Runway is just under 4200ft, but at 6000 feet, even my B36TC chewed up a lot of it getting airborne. The good news is you can make a gradual climb to get to the required Grand Canyon altitudes vs. KGCN and the fuel is way cheaper. There is an antique car display in the terminal. There is also the Flights of Fame Museum next door. Ask someone in the FBO to see the Ford Tri-Motor and you will get access (free) into a hangar, not part of the museum, full of perfectly restored and airworthy historical gems.

Great destination, with very friendly staff and lots to see. Best airport car I've ever used. The Planes of Fame Air Museum next door is worth the stop, many vintage planes (including a ME-109!) and free coffee. I will definitely return.

Highly recommended. Friendly staff. As a secondary destination relative to GCN, they try harder, with more amenities (e.g. very reasonable car rentals at good rates, good fuel prices). The airport owner's collection of planes and classic autos is great. BTW, the runway crack has been fixed.

Flew in to Valle yesterday with a group of three. People went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. Very friendly staff and personal. Plane Museum and their staff was excellent and very nice also. Got to see several planes and cars that I had never seen before. Only down side was the parking on gravel. Keep up the good work! Thank you, will return again in the near future.

Wow what a friendly airport, nice lady asked if she could make us coffee, we requested a courtesy to go eat at local restaurant, it was unavailable so gentleman who ran the FBO let us use his truck- showed us around the hangar and told us about the history of the planes and cars - I have flown all around Arizona and this was the best FBO.

Generally agree with all the positive comments below - good fuel price, friendly folks, beautiful cars and planes abound... But need to highlight a couple GOTCHAS -- taxiway at south end of field is packed rock - watch out for your prop (midfield taxiway and taxiway to north end are paved) about 50 feet (more or less) from the approach end of 19 there is a 8-10" crack in the runway that had been filled with a gooey substance that gave the appearance of roofing tar (not that hot - temps in the 80s)...Needless to say, the TBM (on 18 x 5.50 tires) sank to the wheel rims. Larry bent over backwards and spared no effort to extract us, but we still lost 2 1/2 hours and they still have a big crack in the asphalt. Would hate to think of a nosewheel getting caught in there... (Word is they are repairing the crack...But y'all should still know about it...Maybe a follow up from the friendly folks at the airport?) Response from Norm Gobeil, Airport Manager, Valle Airport Mr. McIrvin's plane did get caught in a crack where the crack-seal didn't hold. We closed the runway and on Monday morning started work to repair the crack with an asphalt patch. The runway was closed for a few days, but is now open again. We believe the unusal warm weather had caused the original patch to fail. I'd like to personally apologize for any inconvenience caused by the mishap and thank you for your kind comments about the airport and the staff. Making a quality aviation experience for visitors to the Valle Airport and the Planes of Fame Museum is the top priority of everyone here at 40G.

Came in with a pair of high school students while giving them an intro flight. Everyone at the FBO was very helpful. We were able to quickly throw some gas in the tanks, scarf down lunch, and get out in time to avoid the building WX. The speed and helpfulness of the staff at the FBO was a huge help in our quick turn. Will definitely be coming back to take a look at the cars and aircraft museum. From what the guy at the FBO said (Larry?) the airport is actually privately owned but open to the public, these guys have a real passion for general aviation and it shows! By the way, watch out for critters on the runway. There were some elk on the approach end of 19 about 30 minutes prior to our arrival and a coyote decided to run out onto the runway just prior to rotation.

Larry was very helpful and generous. He wouldn't even let me pay for my fuel as I was flying a US Soldier wounded in Iraq on an Angel flight Mission. Great stop with antique cars on display in the lobby and an air museum next door. Courtesy car for lunch/dinner and a rental van to go see the Grand Canyon. Please make this your stop and help support an airport that supports America.

We landed at Valle Airport after reading about it on AirNav.Com.. What a nice facility with friendly and helpful people. We spent three hours there having lunch, viewing the antique cars and motorcycles and then having a private tour of the owners’ hangar and aircraft. He has one of the few remaining Ford Trimotors that is still flying. This is a real find and one that I hope to return to many times in the future

We flew in with 5 planes on 9/16. The FBO staff is friendly and professional. The facilities and rental cars are well maintained and clean. Planes of Fame museum is a fun stop. Great alternative to GCN for the general aviation pilot.
