Excellent operation, friendly staff. We stopped by 7/23/07 and again, on the return, 7/26/07. Fuel was lowest price in the area and as advertised on AirNav. We stayed the night at their hotel in the FBO. It was very comfortable with large rooms. A restaurant is in the FBO also but was closed the day we were there. However with the use of their courtesy car several restaurants were close by.

Diverted to this Gem by a passenger who had too much water before leaving Chicago was a blessing. The staff was awesome and the facilities light years ahead of others. The idea of a hotel in the building is something I want to see more of. Hope to come back soon and try that restaurant.

Landed at Putnam County Airport en route from Front Range (Denver) to Cleveland. Weather wasn't the greatest for a VFR pilot not familiar with the area, low clouds with rain and snow forecast for out destination. I asked for advise from the Airport manager who is also a corporate pilot for Dixie Choppers. The manager pulled up information on his computer and gave advice that proved correct about what to expect for our flight into the Cleveland area. I have to say that the employees at this airport were excellent in every way from the service at the pumps (gas prices are the best in the area) to helping us with weather information. We were even treated to a demonstration by Dixie Choppers of their commercial lawn mower. You have to see it to believe it! Thanks guys!!!!

We stopped both ways on a trip to Tullahoma, TN to attend the Beech Party. The price, service and amenities cannot be equaled anywhere else. Utterly fantastic 24/7 service. It will always be a preferred stop for me.

Stopped here on October 6th and 8th, 2006 en route to and from an event held at the Air Force Museum. Very nice FBO and personnel. Took me on a tour of the facility and grounds. I will definitely return for a visit and lunch. This is the way all FBO's should be! Great fuel prices.

Dixie FBO is awesome. Great facility and low, low fuel price. Cafe and new "hotel" onsite. I arrived for the good fuel price. I'll come back for that and the great service. You should too. BTW, this is all a private facility... Proving once again that government cannot match private efforts! Good job, Dixie.

Just returned from a X-C East - West coast R/T in my Bonanza stopping on both legs at Dixie Choppers Air. Wish I had had time to take advantage of the on-site suites, but the restaurant was great and the FBO price and service can't be beat. And if you need a lawn mower... World Class FBO!

My wife and I stopped in for fuel because of the price. The service was outstanding and the folks were great. We decided to stay overnight and were surprised to find the hotel on site. Great rooms, free hangar, and use of the crew car. We will stop again for sure.

Stopped going and returning from OSH. Excellent fuel prices and they pump it. In my part of the world only one or two places under $4.00. Restaurant seems to be open every day since they have specials for each day with aviation names. We did not stay overnight but a hotel is located in second floor above the restaurant. The Orange County Chopper was touring. Highly recommended.

This is what all FBO's should be like! Flew in on a leg from WI to FL in our Archer II. The FBO manager gave us a tour of the facility which includes a great eatery and a hotel with views of the runway. Our plane was fueled promptly FS at great prices. Food was top notch, service was unbeatable. The owner is passionate about aviation and it really shows!

Stopped in at Dixie Chopper Air at 4I7 on July 18, 2006. I had called ahead and made a hotel reservation, but it looked like only 2 or maybe 3 of the rooms were in use. Very nice facility. Nice, big rooms. Wireless Internet worked ok but not great. Wired Internet also dropped from time to time, but it was free, can't complain. The price on the hotel room and the convenience of having it right there at the FBO was terrific. Steve helped me out and actually slid my little RV-7 into the corporate hangar for the night, no charge! He offered a courtesy car, but my mission was just to rest up and head out the next morning. The 100LL price was competitive, another reason I stopped there. Good place to overnight imho.

Stopped here because of their great fuel price. Pull-up to the pumps and the FBO attendant does the work with a smile. The FBO has a full service restaurant, hotel rooms, pilot supplies, etc. When I arrived, the restaurant was already closed, but they still managed to whip-up a great burger and some cherry pie. Great service, and friendly folks with a great "what can we do for you" attitude. Did I say great fuel prices?

In my brief flying career, I have visited many FBOs' but none compare to Putnam County (4I7). The owner and staff make everyone feel welcome, service is second to none, and quality is the norm. This FBO is a true asset to the flying community.

Great pilot's airport. The Airnav should show that the FBO has its own motel over the FBO. You can get up early and leave any time you want without having to get to the airport. The owner's hobby is having a great little airport for the aviation community. They have a car for visiting the the nearby town for dinner, unless you are there in time to eat at their own restaurant. We spent the night on the way to and from Oshkosh. Don't miss this one. It's great.

What a great airport! We stopped here to group up with other planes on Friday, 19 Aug 2005, for our trip to Oshkosh. Then we continued around Lake Michigan, what a blast!!

Great stop! Clean, well maintained fuel facility. Attendant very helpful. Nice terminal serving a Sunday Brunch for, I think, $8.00. Only one computer for processing fuel sales and for pilots getting weather. I'll sure make this a planned stop anytime I'm in the area.
