This is great place to stop. I called the day before, as I generally do, to make sure there as available fuel and to get a feel for the airport since this is my first time in to Mount Ida. Leon answered the phone and was very friendly...Told me that they had plenty of fuel at a great price...And that transportation was available if we needed to go into town...And he even was there when we landed the next day. Great hospitality and you'll enjoy talking to Leon.

Good comments... I was looking for some good stops in Arkansas, but I'll be buying my gas "down the road".

We were treated very rudely by the person claiming to be "in charge" there. Not only was he not helpful, he seemed to go out of his way to not be helpful.
Response from Leon Turnage, Airport Manager I was there and no one was rude to Mr. Vietti. They were mad because they wanted to camp out on airport property and had not made prior arrangements to do so.

Flew in to eat at the restaurant -- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Pilot's lounge was locked up but the self-serve fuel pump looked easy to use. Good place to stop.

I was just planning our annual trip to Mount Ida and discovered that Dr. Fowler died last month. He was always very helpful and kind when we used the airport and, in my opinion, epitomized small town airport hospitality. He will be missed. I've been told by a nearby business operator that there is someone else that is taking over the management of the airport, but there are no phone numbers in service as of this time to check the availability of fuel and rental cars (such that they were).

Stopped here on a Saturday at noon. Locked up tight and no number and no notes. No bathrooms, no water, no nothing. There does not appear to be a working fuel tank or FBO operational.
