This comment is not directed at Koob's. Rangeley is not a well set up refueling stop. We tried three times during our visit to get the refueling done and could not get the pumps on. If this is your first visit, restrict your arrival to day VMC, bring your own tie downs and expect no help at the Airport. This is a "remote" area, beautiful as it may be.

Flew in last week for a mini vacation. Our rented Jeep from Koob's was waiting at the airport for us. Drove into town and paid them for the rental. Going home we left the Jeep at the airport, filled the plane with fuel (self service), and called them to let them know how much fuel we pumped and pay. Very easy. These folks are super nice! No tie-down or other fees.

Stopped today for fuel, sign had a number to call for service. Asked a person in a hangar about self service and he said you call the number and give them a credit card, pump gas, and they would come out later to check gallons pumped.
