Windsock is a bit faded though still functional. Runway is in decent shape. There are trees on the approach to 27 and along the right side of the runway. I flew in to Twin on a clear windless day. Because of the proximity to the mountains, I imagine the approach could be tricky on a windy day, especially if you have to use 27. I met the owner and his dog. Both were very friendly! Munroe's Family Restaurant is just about a mile south on Rt 3. They offer great breakfast, lunch and dinner (Summer only). During the Winter I fly into KHIE but I'll be back to 8B2 in the Spring!

I flew into Twin Mountain on a nice August afternoon. I landed 27, the trees are very close to the threshold. There are two big tar patches on the right side of runway 27 near the end that look like large animals from a distance, I flew over just to be sure the runway was clear. The runway is in fair shape with weeds growing through the cracks. Tie downs are just off the paved surface in very mushy sand/gravel mixture. Tires will sink if you attempt to taxi through this, so I would line up on the paved surface then push back with the tow bar. There were only 1 set of tiedown ropes available and a few sets of chocks, so bring your own if staying over night. There is a little building on the field with a restroom, it was undergoing renovations when we visited. I was greeted by the airport owner. He directed our kids to a blueberry patch to get fresh blueberries. He also indicated runway 9 is the primary runway. Tie down fee is $5 a night.
