Flew in on Sunday 10/2/11. Although the facilities were closed, one call to Pat the airport manager and he dropped everything and came right out to the airport to fill me up. Super nice, offering use of facilities and offering drinks. Went over the top in helping me with my airplane. A great airport and manager! General aviation is definitely better with people like Pat in it.

Stopped on our way out to San Diego for the Cessna 170 Association convention. A real unknown treasure. Reasonable fuel, courtesy car. Great local restaurant, I believe its named Peppers Deli & Restaurant. Great food, low prices.

Landed spur of the moment on 1-30 for fuel. Place was locked up but there was a phone and # displayed for service. The phone actually broke while I was using it but called the next day to let the manager know. Nice guy and said he'd take care of it. No facilities open to get into though.

As I flew from East to West, X-Country in a C-182, attempting to make my intended destination of Camdenton, MO I was blocked by heavy thunderstorms to the west. Diverted into Potosi/Washington County. I positively echo the below comments about the airport manager, Pat. He was a wonderful host. Loaned me the airport vehicle so I could go into town and get supper. Although I did not need fuel for the plane, I put gas in the vehicle. After my delay, I was able to fly on, but I really appreciate the down-home hospitality.

Stopped by Potosi Airport today (by car). I introduced myself to Pat, the airport manager. I really liked him. He's clearly very serious about aviation. There's no self-service fuel, and the airport is only attended Monday through Friday. However, Pat made it clear that accommodations are possible if you call ahead. I plan to be back, hopefully by air next time.
