Flew in landed RWY 20. There are multiple windsocks but the one mid-field is on the eastside of the RWY and has the traffic indicators in bright yellow. This photo is correct, looking north. The prison is west of the field; you can see it in the upper left corner of the photo. All and all nice little airport, its unattended so make sure you call.

We landed at Festus and no one was there, no restroom access nor courtesy car. Another pilot called Pat at Washington County to ask if we could use the courtesy car. Pat said yes. We flew the 12 minute flight and when we landed Pat had the car running to cool it off. He was very hospitable. We will certainly make a point to stop there if we are in the vicinity. GREAT SERVICE!!!!

I called about fuel and spoke with Pat. He said they did not fuel at this time and was in the process of getting the tanks inspection. Be sure to call.

Landed on 4/2/08 for fuel. Pat was great. Very helpful, very cheap fuel. If he's not in (and he's not there on weekends), he leaves a note on the hangar door with his phone number.

We arrived on Sat 3/30/08 for gas... Nobody here, no phone number for after hours service, no terminal building, no bathrooms, pumps locked. Flew to Farmington AIrport - they have 24 hr self serve.

Response from Patrick Campbell, Airport Manager, Washington County Airport
I'm sorry I wasn't here to assist you. But there is a phone on the west side of the green hangar in a red box marked phone, with an after hours number inside. I do come in after hours and weekends if someone makes a call and lets me know they'll be coming in. Again I'm sorry I wasn't here to assist you.

W Pond is right on the money. Pat is great. We stopped to avoid weather. Pat put our plane in the main hangar, loaned us the courtesy car and told us where to get some ice cream. Cheap gas and great service. This kind of service is very rare.

The aerial photo shown for Potosi is actually POF (Poplar Bluff, MO.). I emailed AirNav of this discrepancy about 18 mos. Ago & the error has not yet been detected.

What a gem! Patrick, who is a throwback to days of friendly, generous service, manages this small, county airport. The courtesy car was out when we arrived the first time and he loaned us his personal vehicle. Weather on the way back stopped us and he put our plane in the main hangar and gave us the car overnight. Fuel was MUCH cheaper than St. Louis area FBOs. All around excellent experience. Patrick even managed to get a long-standing paint stain off the left wing--all at no charge. Worth going out of the way for!
