Ellsworth Municipal (9K7) certainly exceeded expectations during our stop there, 4/24/11. They have a nice concrete ramp, and a clean pilots lounge/restroom. The self-service fueling is easy to use and was very, very, reasonably priced. Although I didn't need the use of the courtesy car, there is one available. Dale W. Promptly responded to my email query regarding the services there. It's great to see another community with this kind of commitment to their airport. Thanks Ellsworth!

We stopped by for an overnight. I contacted Dale Weinhold prior and learned the ramp in front of the self-service pump had been removed for replacement. It was scheduled to be complete around the end of October. But no worry Great Bend was only 25 minutes away. There were no tie downs available but they, Dale and Kerry Woods, arranged a vacant hangar spot. No charge then let us take the courtesy car during our stay. Everyone was very helpful and as friendly as one comes. We will always try to visit when in the neighborhood.

Great self-service system installed now. Best prices around for fuel. Nice lounge, but mostly unattended. Just be careful how you position your aircraft, as it's uphill away from the pump. So if you fill it up and try to push it out as I did, you may have a problem. Looks like facing south at the pump is best. Great fuel stop!
