What a great little airport. The pilot's lounge is large and comfortable, with plenty of aviation magazines and indoor/outdoor seating, plus showers. Chico State's campus is a 25-minute walk away, and downtown Chico is only 5 minutes past that. Don't worry about the "Private" status; all pilots are welcome during daylight hours. I wish this country had a lot more airports like Ranchaero.

Recreational aviation at its finest! Cute airport, practice short-fields while meeting all the old salts in the area and enjoying the cheapest gas you'll find anywhere. (Don't let it's "private" status scare you; feel free to land during any daylight hour)

One of the nicest places to visit that we know of with great places in the City to just hang out and the Marriot was $65/night online. Courtesy truck relieves the feet to enhance your visit.

Like stepping back into the 40s. Camped out by my plane with a hot shower after getting the cheapest fuel for a thousand miles. Short bike ride to town. From the middle of nowhere to a hopping college town in one mile...Ahh...Flying.

A great little airport! Always seems to have the cheapest gas in the area. Much closer to downtown and the University than the big airport. Pilot lounge has a kitchen, showers and most importantly, A/C!

Great destination although courtesy car is inoperative which makes a two mile walk to town for a meal.
