I needed a place to stay for a short visit to Pine Mountain Lake; booked a room via The Cub Inn website. Jo picked me up at the airport (E45) where I had parked my aircraft; he is a very pleasant host just as enthusiastic about aviation as I am. The location is awesome, in a very quiet wooded area, great looking log cabin style house. Will definitely get there again for my next visit, highly recommended.

The Cub Inn is the most pilot friendly place I've been to. Joe will happily pick you up and drop you off at the airport, lend you his Jeep so that you can drive to Yosemite, or whatever other surroundings you were planning on seeing. I took care of the gas, and gave a very generous trip for having been able to roam around in a place where there otherwise are no rental cars and no taxi service. The morning breakfast was quite good, although if you were planning on leaving early (before 9), you need to let the owners know so that you can work something out for breakfast. In the evening, Joe will happily share pilot stories with you, and he has plenty :) All this to say that the Cub Inn is the perfect place for a pilot to stay, and I wish more similar locations were available.

This is a great Bed and Breakfast located close to Yosemite. My girlfriend and I needed a nice weekend getaway and this was absolutely the place to do it. We flew in and Joe met us at the airport, got us settled in at the Inn and let us borrow the Jeep to get around town. We went to the Iron Door Saloon and had dinner at The Grill (both highly recommended). Joe entertained us with wine, cheese and homemade bread while we fed a family of deer including a Doe, Fawn and Robert (a 6pt Buck) carrots from the deck. Waking up to the smell of coffee and maple syrup, we enjoyed a great breakfast before making the short drive into Yosemite. It was an amazing weekend and we'll definitely be back.

Our son and daughter-in-law spent 2 nights at the Cub Inn. After hearing about the great time they had and seeing the pictures of Joe and Charleen's fantastic cabin home, my husband and I went the next weekend. We felt we were staying with family as we sat visiting by the awesome fireplace eating s'mores that night. Our room was absolutely beautiful. Charlene has done an excellent job decorating. Breakfast was great-Joe is a gourmet cook! We were also graciously loaned one of their Jeep's for the day to go to Yosemite, as we had flown into Pine Mountain. We got hugs when we left to fly home. Joe and Charlene have definitely found their niche--in running a perfect Bed and Breakfast. We highly recommend The Cub Inn.

We flew into Pine Mountain last weekend and stayed at The Cub Inn, which was fantastic! We got a prompt ride from the airport to the Inn, and since it was close to dinner, we were even given a quick tour of Groveland of great places to eat at before dropping us off at the Inn. We were then graciously able to use their Jeep to go to dinner. When we got back to the Inn, we visited in the living room by the fire with a few of the other guests (some aviation enthusiasts as well). They offered us wine, cheese, and fruit. The place was decorated with an aviation theme and we felt like we were staying with friends. In the morning we had a great breakfast and then used the Jeep to go to Yosemite, which is 24 miles to Yosemite and about another 25 miles to the Yosemite valley. The next morning he dropped us off at the airport and we were on our way. I would definitely recommend staying here!

My wife and I flew into Pine Mountain Lake Airport, E45, on Sunday, September 6. As promised Charleen met us at the airport shortly after we called. The facilities are great and Joe and Charleen were very gracious. Since they are both pilots, they were extremely receptive to having pilots fly in and understood pilot's needs. They loaned my wife and I one of their Jeeps and we took a trip to see Hetch Hetchy. We had a nice dinner at the Hotel Charlotte in Groveland. Monday morning we had a very nice breakfast with a couple other pilots that had flown in and Joe took us back to the airport. Highly recommended.

This is the place to stay if you'd like to fly into the Yosemite Valley. We flew in on a Sunday evening, were picked up at the airport, and graciously welcomed to the Cub inn, where Joe and Char treated us like old friends. We were highly entertained by Joe's adventures flying Chinooks in Vietnam. The next morning, they loaned us a jeep to drive to Yosemite. We climbed half dome, dropped the jeep off back at the inn, and then hopped in our Bonanza for the flight home. Highly recommended!
