Robert Uecker is one of the most attentive gentlemen I have ever met. We were forced down by icing conditions and it was raining when we arrived. Robert met us at the plane with the crew car and kept us dry. Then he insisted we use the car without charge to go to our hotel for the night. We fueled the car and plane, but it seemed too little for such superior service. Alexander Aero just built a new FBO. This is a great stop with excellent service, and as the new facilities are completed it will only keep getting even better. Thank you Robert! This was one of our nicest stops on a double cross-country trip.

One week prior to landing at Belen for fuel, I phoned this FBO to let them know I would stop for fuel and catering then continue on to our final destination. Immediate service was the order of the day as this FBO immediately saw to it my airplane was quickly fueled. Catering was perfectly prepared with added touches that made this pilot look great. Folks, the owners of Alexander Aero go way out of their way to provide service to the aviation community. My two thumbs are up as are my passengers' thumbs as everyone on board had about the best experience one could expect from an uncontrolled airport.

Well, I thought about not writing a comment, but here goes. I have tried on three different times to fly here for breakfast- the first two when I arrived it was closed. On the third time, I made sure and called prior to taking off from my FBO. This was at 8:30 AM, to make sure they were open. The person on the phone said they were open, but would be closing, since there were no customers. I said, "Well, it's only 8:30.. Do you think there might be more people showing up a bit later?" That didn't matter. The restaurant was closing down. I went on to Double Eagle (KAEG). Their restaurant not only posts their hours of operation, but also actually adheres to them. Part of the fun of flying is being able to go to an FBO with a destination in mind. Alexander Aero in Belen falls way short of that. If you are flying on north, I suggest to keep going an extra 15-20 minutes to Double Eagle.

Lousy. We stopped there for some gas and felt like we were intruding on their parachuting plans. I would pay more just to go somewhere else.

The LoPresti family is moving their Fury aircraft production facility to this airport, with New Mexico's financial backing. Current runway will be resurfaced, and a new North-South runway will be built within the next year (!)--A good thing when you're flying taildraggers. Should be a shot in the arm to this field.
