It was raining when we arrived. Robert met us at the plane with the crew car and kept us dry. Then he insisted we use it without charge to go to our hotel for the night. We fueled the car and plane, but it seemed too little for such superior service. They just built a new FBO. Great stop and excellent service. Thank you Robert!

I phoned Alexander Aero wanting to know where to order catering if I used the Belen Airport for a refueling stop. After being told there was a restaurant on the field my phone call was passed onto Carolina's Cafe. Requiring sandwiches for my passengers, my order was for five. I confirmed this order the day before arriving and was assured everything was on track. On track it was, indeed. Vicki had all catering taken care of in addition to a greeting like none I have ever had at an airport this size. Hey, if you fly corporate and want to avoid the expense of Albuquerque, stop by and let this FBO take care of you with the best service you will receive anywhere. Fuel price is great, service is great, catering is above and way beyond. Thanks Dave, Vicki, Jason & Patrick for what you did to make my stop fantastic.

Carolina's Cafe is generally open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If the weather is not good, she has no customers then she canNOT afford to stay open and pay a waitress. Carolina's Cafe is really open out of the kindness of her heart because it certainly is not a moneymaking business. She stays open because of her regular customers who enjoy flying and stopping for breakfast, lunch, coffee and the comradeship of other pilots. Sorry, but we will continue to check the weather and fly to Belen.

Well, I thought about not writing a comment, but here goes. I have tried on three different times to fly here for breakfast- the first two when I arrived it was closed. On the third time, I made sure and called prior to taking off from my FBO. This was at 8:30 AM, to make sure they were open. The person on the phone said they were open, but would be closing, since there were no customers. I said, "Well, it's only 8:30.. Do you think there might be more people showing up a bit later?" That didn't matter. The restaurant was closing down. I went on to Double Eagle (KAEG). Their (Double Eagle) restaurant not only posts their hours of operation, but also actually adheres to them. Part of the fun of flying is being able to go to an FBO with a destination in mind. Alexander Aero in Belen falls way short of that. If you are flying in the Albuquerque area, I suggest to keep going an extra 15-20 minutes to Double Eagle.
