Stopped in on New Year’s Eve afternoon. As stated before, no one was around and the port-a-potty was about as filthy as it could be. I would not allow my wife to use it!! There are absolutely NO FACILITIES there, so if you ONLY need fuel in the area, this might be an OK stop, but the fuel price is not worth the stop for me. It's also a high-density altitude airport so watch the runway length.
Response from Kurt Winker, Hooey, LLC In response to Mr. Cassada's comments: I feel I must attempt to address this once and for all, even though all of this is stated on the pages: The Fuel system is SELF SERVE, it states that. Nowhere does it say there is an FBO at the pumps. THERE IS NO FBO HERE, This is an Airpark! There is No Transportation provided or arranged by Mid Valley, The Porta potty has been cleaned. Mr. Cassada even called before his trip He asked only about fuel, nothing else. All the information you need is in the pubs. Read them or feel free to call us. Thank you.

I recently completed a successful trip from Denver to my hometown in Los Lunas. I contacted the Airport manager Kurt a while before my trip to get info about landing at Mid-Valley airpark. Since it is an airpark they don't have any normal transient parking but he graciously offered to let us park on his driveway tie down location. He met us after we landed and helped getting the airplane tied down and seemed like a great guy. Even my kids had a great time playing with his son as we got the plane tied down. Although we could have flown down to Belen or up to Double Eagle you just can't beat the small town hospitality of landing at a small airpark like Mid-Valley. The self-fuel pump appeared to be working perfectly as we filled up before our return flight to Colorado. Thanks again Kurt and we look forward to returning again someday in the future.

Price was as advertised and they do have a port-a-potty now. However, the pump does not automatically or easily turn off. I hate paying for gas that evaporates on the ramp.
Response from Kurt Winker, Hooey LLC I talked with several folks after reading the complaint about the fuel pump turning off. This has never been reported before and no one else had a problem. If you let go of the handle, the fuel stops flowing immediately. If you turn off the pump, the fuel stops. I'd like to hear more about the specifics. P.S. If it is the case, it is NEVER prudent or safe to leave an aircraft while it is fueling.

Nice small airpark. Well maintained runway and always a fun place to practice short field landings. I've used the self service tank three times now and never a problem. (but I couldn't get the "A" key to tell me the price of gas). 100LL was $4.38 a gallon, a good $1.20 cheaper than at ABQ Int'l. One suggestion, a port-a-potty would be nice as there are no facilities and the bushes are trimmed too low to hide behind...

The Response from Kurt Winker, Hooey, Inc. is 100% true and accurate. He was a really nice guy when we were there in spite of the fact that he was not having things go well for him that day.
