Landed at Winnsboro on June 2, 2013 for fuel enroute to GTU. Great runway and self service pumps easy and great to use. Facility was open with a lot of local information and I was back airborne in 25 minutes. Best fuel prices in the area.

I flew in from Little Rock on 3/22/2012 needing the 92 unleaded to continue home in my Rotax 912ULS Experimental. I can't thank you enough for selling it! This time however, the SS pump would not work. Lucky for me, Carl Elkins showed up in his van and was able to take the faceplate off exposing a mouse home that was preventing a gear from operating. His lucky appearance saved me from having to take the courtesy car into town and buy two gas cans etc. Thanks to Winnsboro for the high oct non-ethanol and thx to Carl for rescuing me!

MOGAS & 100LL working; Had a bit of a Credit card issue at first and called the phone numbers listed on AirNav. Carl answered and was most helpful. He offered to deliver pizza. Carl has been a fixture at F51 for a number of years. The city doesn't pay him anymore to look after the airport, but he volunteers just the same.

June 24 I stopped in for fuel at this airport that I've used quite a number of times and there was no fuel. Come to find out that the city manager thought she could run the airport better than professionals that have been doing a great job for years. She let the fuel run out for what she said was one day, but I heard it was more like two weeks. Now I've got less than 15 gallons and no alternate in mind. One of the locals there suggested JDD, just a short hop away. Got in, fired it up and flew there, (maybe 10 minutes total). Great little airport, very clean facilities, good place for an alternate. Fuel is more expensive, but still reasonable. I'd call ahead next time I use F51, just to make sure someone hasn't forgotten the fuel again.

Mogas and 100LL for very good price. Nice folks, crew car, 50 cent pop, free water and easy access. If you're coming to DFW from the east, this is the spot.
