Convenient stop en route for self serve fuel. Small FBO is clean and friendly. Departure from 19 faces rising terrain with high tension wires on top, which caught my attention on a 90+degree day.

Top-notch service, great little airport, very good fuel price. Be sure to get there before 4PM. After hours fuel is self-serve and FBO is locked up tight. There is no taxi service or transportation available.

May 13, 2007. Landed to refuel. Gas prices were low at the SS pump. However all the facilities were locked up and no way to access the bathrooms, or get a ride to get something to eat. It would have been nice to have the time services are available listed on line.

Passed through and landed there yesterday to fuel my twin and grab some breakfast (after going missed at Portsmouth due to low fog). Very friendly and efficient service. Was given a courtesy car and directions to town. Had some good grub at JR Valentines, a local diner in Jackson. Man at the airport pumped the self service gas for me when we got back. Great little place, wish it was closer to my home base in Minneapolis.

Flew in there recently. Cheap gas and self serve pumps that were available after hours made my trip from Detroit to RDU inexpensive and convenient.
