I stopped there on 9/16/08 in a Citation. We had a mechanical and I thought we were going to be grounded there for days. Long story short, Gary really came through for us and we were able to depart the very next day. Great restaurant, great people, great service, great fuel price ($5.40 for Jet-A on 9/17), and a great experience in a beautiful part of the country. I hope my travels bring me to K22 again someday.

Delivered a canine pax, and it's all true. The restaurant (till 2100) is fast, friendly and excellent quality--try the Monte Cristo ("172"). The FBO had fresh fruit, cookies and all the services I wanted fast and fair, and a down-home atmosphere to boot. K22 is built on a reclaimed, and with all the heavy machine traffic around and below I get the name. Don't miss this one, FS at SS prices.

Gary Cox & the folks at Big Sandy didn't get the memo that fuel stops have to be overpriced, indifferent, & slow. Great on-site restaurant, approaches, fuel prices & service. What's not to like? Support operators like this every chance you get.

Wow, what a great stop on our way from Texas to Baltimore. The airport and facilities are top notch, and the fuel price one of the best around. Gary Cox made sure the cafe was open for us at 8 pm for a quick bite, fuel, then onward. I highly recommend this stop to anyone in this area, and I hope to fly that direction again soon.

Chose this destination for Sunday lunch again this weekend from Columbus Ohio. FBO is still very friendly, very clean and very service oriented. We lingered with the operator for a while after lunch just because it was nice being there. They even had a basket of fruits, some cookies and nuts on the counter. A good place to do business again and again.

I flew into this airport because of weather. Gary has lower the fuel prices so I'm all over it; I stop here for fuel and the nice visit with Gary Cox the owner. They let me park inside the big hangar for nothing while the weather pasted and was more than helpful with everything I asked for. State of the art facility and is worth a visit for the experience. I highly recommend to the second power! See ya again!!!

Kentucky has the best airports bar none!!! Gary Cox is a model FBO operator; if all operations ran this well with this kind of friendly service we'd never have another complaint in flying. Awesome new facility any and everything you could ever want in a FBO is here. If you’re waiting out weather there is no better place to hang out and chat or flight plan. Also try out the Cloud Nine restaurant, food is pretty good. Thanks again for the great conversation, I'll see you when I'm out east next time. Also thanks for setting up the 402 ride. Two thumbs up for this FBO.

We stopped by for Fuel and Food and got nothing but top notch service. While we ate a wonderful affordable lunch right at the field our plane was fueled. It was a long day of flying in a C-172 but this stop was perfect. I highly recommend stopping in for a 100 hamburger or for fuel while you are in route.

Flew over to K22 yesterday for lunch at the Cloud 9 Cafe. This was our 4th trip, and a great experience, as always. Really appreciate the friendly service - thank you Mr. Cox. On taxi to Rwy 21 for departure, we observed a large herd of ELK just west of the taxiway!

Friend and I flew to K22 to eat at Cloud 9 Cafe. While landing my C-182 I blew the right main tire. Luckily uneventful. I called on the radio to let the FBO know of my incident. Within seconds FBO-Owner Gary Cox arrived in his truck to help. 3 other guys aided in tugging the aircraft to the FBO hangar. Tire was replaced while my friend and I had lunch at Cloud 9 Cafe 100ft from the FBO. I can't say enough about Gary this is the 2nd time he has helped me out (Last time stranded due to weather). In my opinion Mr. Cox should be nominated for FBO Manager of the year.

A pleasant experience, excellent service, a nice little FBO. Mr. Cox treats you like you're right at home. He made me a sandwich in the restaurant even when it was closed, how's that for service!! Check out his hand carved roosters! A+++ for service and hospitality!
