Fuel pump out of service - says network problem. Reported weather often shows low ceiling and low visibility when clear of clouds, temperature and dew point often missing (which would allow a cross check on visibility report). Excellent (new) tiedown ropes. No Verizon cell or Internet service. Management lives on the airport, will help if he can.Response from Joel Johnson, Airport Manager, Allen Parish Airport Sorry for the inconvenience. The telephone line to the credit card reader had been cut and as soon as I was made aware of it I had AT&T repair the problem. As far as the AWOS it had a part that had to be replaced on the ceilometer. And the coax for the radio connection had come loose and has also been repaired It is working fine now.

I landed around 1740, my 2nd stop of a long cross-country in a helicopter. The last 30 min of my flight, I had taken ill from a previous meal. Joel Johnson greeted me as I shutdown and was a welcome sight! He assisted me in refueling, and he let me freshen-up. The hot shower was a blessing! This country would be alot better, if it's GA airports were operated by men like "Joel Johnson"! I'll never forget him and will ALWAYS make it a point to refuel there. Thanks Joel!

Stopped in here for fuel on the way to Texas. Airport was unattended but there was a mobile home that was open for restroom use. Self-service fuel worked perfectly. Best fuel prices along my route. Runway was in great condition.

Yesterday I went to Allen Parish its a small quiet airport, with the cheapest fuel price in the area. The manager of the self service is really amazing he provided us with a place to stay in the airport, a ride to eat something and he always looks out for our needs.. I highly recommend this place..

Stopped in around noon. Nobody around, but we didn't call in advance either. Fuel is self-service, but we didn't need any. The FBO was open so we could use the facilities, but we had absolutely no cell phone service (Verizon). Good thing we could depart VFR and pick up our IFR clearance since we couldn't reach approach from the ground and the Remote Communications Outlet (RCO) didn't seem to work properly.
