Nice airport, with ILS and LPV approaches, which you'll need this close to the coast. Call the main airport number to get connected to people with fuel and rental cars.

No GA FBO made for a little more walking to get a rental car, but no big deal. Was a bit of a chore trying to get in touch with someone about who to pay the overnight fee to, but after trying all the numbers in the A/FD I got the number to call for fuel service/fee collection, just to find out that I needed to taxi over to the service island as they have no truck for 100LL. There was a little miscommunication and I found a ticket hanging from the tiedown the following afternoon while I conducted my pre-flight even though I had paid the fee at the time I got fuel. I called the number on the ticket but got no answer so I called the number I managed to get someone on the day before and they were able to get the double bill for overnight parking sorted out. Not sure I would use KACV again for an overnight trip. Was nice to have the rental car counters, but other than that no real outstanding service or facilities for the GA folks here.

Friendly quick service at Fuel Island. They have no FBO on site, nor any GA services other than fuel. $8 per night tie down. Short walk to the commercial terminal for rental cars, restrooms, restaurant. No security hassles as they have a GA gate with code. I'd say Murray is a bit more GA friendly with FBO on-site, but fuel price is usually no better there. ILS and more rental car options gave KACV the advantage on this trip.

Still very pricey fuel with very friendly service. Flew in here due to super strong winds beating my fuel supply down and was very unhappy to find that they lock the little weather shelter near the pumps. Had to walk to the main terminal for a phone and wi-fi, and the winds had caused the front entrance to malfunction. As I walked into the terminal the automatic door tried to take me out by closing on me with great force. Took 1 cop, 3 TSA employees, the airport fueler, and a maintenance man to fix it...I see why California has budget problems. Seriously I would avoid Humboldt County airports for fuel unless you have no other options. This is a great area to explore by air, just haul your fuel from Willits to the south or Crescent City from the north.
