Bad forecast had me planning to drive but wx improved last minute so I called FBO to advise of my arrival and arrange a rental car. Downside is you have to call Hertz yourself to do it, and in this case the Hertz staff would not answer their phone, so I planned to Uber into town which worked great (only $7). Tie down overnight is $15 waived with 10 gal fuel purchase, which is very reasonable. Fuel prices were not great but similar to my home field. The facility is comfortable and modern though seating is a bit uncomfortable for prolonged stay. On preparing to leave the wx turned bad and delayed my departure. Staff was wonderful during this time. Borrowed a crew car (the infamous Crown Vic) to grab a bite, and when my day got worse and I locked the keys in it at a local restaurant Will drove out to help open it. When that didn't work they even contacted and paid for a local locksmith to come out and open it for me. Great overall experience and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again!

I have flown into AHN 15-20 times over the last 5 years and the service and fuel prices have always been excellent, even on game days!

Came in for an overnight during a big game weekend. Very friendly tower. FBO was great with good service and well priced. I will be back. Thanks for the service.

Nice place, friendly staff but can only give 4 stars to charge $15 for a ramp fee if there more than an hour in a small single-engine is a little much. I can understand overnight.

Just getting a bag of ice, and pot of coffee out to the aircraft is impossible at AHN. Don't even think about a GPU or lav service. Without a doubt the worst customer service of any FBO minus the old Signature at BTR.

Response from Tim Beggerly, Airport/FBO Manager, Athens/Ben Epps Airport
Thank you for your comment here on AirNav. Although our goal is for everyone to receive excellent service in AHN, we obviously fell short in your case, for that we apologize. Please feel free to call me or stop by my office on your next trip and we will discuss your experience. Till then, happy flying and we look forward to serving you again in Athens, GA.

The staff and service at Athens/Ben Epps were excellent. However all pilots should be warned about the taxi companies in Athens. Do not use them. We called UBER when we arrived 3/10/2016 and it cost $6 for two people and luggage to get from the airport to our hotel downtown. The next morning there was a software glitch and we were unable to reach the UBER app, so took the recommendation of the Holiday Inn Express manager, who had the receptionist call United Cab Company. Their driver said the fare would be $40 for two people to the airport. We said, no way, and he offered to do it for $30. He said this is a college town and they have to charge per person, normally $20 per person. The full size vintage van was filthy. Needless to say, if the driver was expecting a tip, there was none to be found.

Nice FBO Facility great Class D CT instructions and help but remember to buy fuel or you will pay a fee for parking on a taxpayer provided ramp for 2 hours, not even any tie down eyes or rope.

Flew in to Athens a week ago arriving after dark and stayed until just before closing was skeptical of their service but to my surprise great service no cleaning up of the FBO prior to closing 100LL 50 cents per gallon less than our home base of Columbus, Ga. Thanks to staff and line service we will be back soon

Worst line service help and attitude I have seen in 16 years of flying. No parking (Jet, not that it matters), no help in any way other than physically pumping gas in the plane, and taking payment for fuel and GPU. Not busy at all, just lazy as can be, with a terrible attitude. Another City run FBO that obviously has zero training or any concept or understanding of how to properly run a professional FBO. The only thing anyone in that building was excited about was the fact that they were not working next Monday, when we are set to return... Simply amazing. I've seen bad, but this is unfortunately the worst IN THE COUNTRY.

I flew my Mooney to KAHN and stayed one night. Ramp service was outstanding. Fuel price was good. Airport and FBO are very nice. See you next time!

I fly in regularly and the quality of service is consistently excellent. Supervisors, line technicians, and the customer service reps are all easy going and friendly. Tower is awesome, will give you flight following clearance while taxiing. They have a great system if you come in on game day. Pistons park in the grass, minivan picks you up, round-trip shuttle for $10 cash will take you to the arch. Great job everyone!
