Wings Grill means KAUN is a regular breakfast destination for me. Fast service, fantastic pancakes!!! All breakfast items are very good - quality food and priced right. UNICOM is usually around to help you find a tie down. Airplane parking is right next to the restaurant. Enjoy your meal on the patio and watch the aircraft come and go.

Living not far from AUN, I had never stopped in there before. Busy little airport on Saturday late AM. Someone on the ground was calling out traffic advisories to incoming aircraft. He had us headed to the wrong runway. We figured it out quick enough. Wings - excellent meal and nice looking waitresses. Grilled turkey Ortega sandwich was excellent.

I flew into Auburn today for lunch to find Wings closed for the day. It was well before 2 PM and there was no explanation posted for the closure. It being a nice day I took a short walk and, like the previous poster, found the Ridge Golf Course. They have a nice selection of salads and sandwiches for lunch at reasonable prices and a Sunday brunch buffet. I ate on the deck and enjoyed the view of the course. To get there take New Airport Road, behind Wings, and turn left on Golf Course Road. It is about a 10-minute walk, mostly on sidewalks.

On landing at AUN yesterday, I was disappointed to find Wings closed. It closes at 2PM daily. The hostess who was still there mentioned The Ridge would be a good alternative. What a great recommendation! About 1/2 mile from the airport, it's easy to find and serves The Ridge Golf Course and the public. My wife and I had salmon and roast beef sandwiches with sides, and a wonderful outdoors view of the golf course and the geese that evaluate and advise the players. This restaurant deserves its own entry in AirNav.

Stopped for breakfast March 7th. Very tasty food with lots of non-egg options. Fairly quiet airport with several interesting aircraft around.

I have eaten at Wings a number of times, but if they are jam-packed, a good alternative is the golf course restaurant (The Ridge, I think), just a few minutes' walk away. From the Wings Grill, just walk south about 5 minutes and you will see the golf course building next to the fairways. The Ridge has good food, but you can't beat the runway views and outdoor patio of the Wings Grill.

Great food and view of the runway, but it fills up quick on Sunday mornings. My CFI and I found ourselves returning often for the kind, courteous and beautiful waitresses!

They still have great food AND service -- 4/30/06 They have new tables for outside and the chairs are more comfortable too.

Excellent, friendly service. Tired of Caesar salad? Try the Marco's Portuguese Caesar special - spicy sliced seared linguica on a bed of romaine - Woohoo! :-) A great find, all served by the waitresses that everybody talks about..... Recommended!
