I've been training with Specialty Flight since January, and have had a great experience with them so far. Loni, the owner, has been helpful and polite since the beginning. I've been training under Lyn Dague and I feel very lucky to be training with him. His experience, training, and sense of humor are second to none.

I agree with one of the previous postings about Lonnie. He had stopped into our AP training school to get some information and was rude and condescending to the staff. He demanded information immediatly from the staff. When he didn't get what he wanted he stormed out of the building like a child. I would think twice about doing business with him. Get off of your high horse Lonnie..............

After doing some research I settled on using SFTI to get some mountain training in my Comanche 250. Even though I'm a commercial SEL with an instrument rating, being a "flatlander" I wanted to obtain a level of confidence and proficiency to fly that type of terrain and altitudes. Lonnie lined me up with Lyn and I was very pleased with the professionalism, teaching style, and knowledge he shared with me for two days. I spent ground school time and two different flight legs with Lyn in the mountains and I am without out a doubt a better, more informed, and safer pilot because of it. He did a great job and I'd recommend them.

I just rented an SFTI's plane for a five-day trip last month, just weeks after it opened business in BDU. SFTI is a good place for renting, pilots or student pilots, people there are polite and considerate, and planes are in good condition.

Lonnie at SFT was quite unpleasant, haughty and condescending. Really caught me off guard! Maybe he was having a bad day, but I think a little competition on the field might teach him to extend common courtesy and respect to potential customers. Advanced CFI Certificates are meaningless and unimpressive if you mistreat people.

I've been flying at specialty for more than a year now and I couldn't stress enough what a great flight school this is. Lonnie, the owner, is just about always there and willing to help you with whatever you need. A major selling point for me was that they allow mountain flying, with a checkout of course. In all reality, this is Colorado; it just seems foolish not to let people enjoy the challenges and scenery of mountain flight.

If you're in the Denver area, and you want to get some mountain flying experience, stop by and see the staff at Specialty Flight Training. I had Lyn fly with me up to Leadville. Very knowledgeable with an easy teaching manner. I highly recommend SFTI for mountain flying instruction, be prepared for a wonderful time.
