Flew into KBJC on 8/22/2009. My friend & I wanted some lunch prior to departure, was suggested we eat at Runway Grill. The view is great & the food was OK-Good. Service, however, Left Much To Be Desired. We were greeted fairly promptly by a nice young lady & seated, but it went downhill fast after that. It was not very crowded, but we waited about 10min before someone came to take our order. The people behind us wanted some more ice water & they tried many times to get the attention of wait staff & were ignored. When we asked a passing waiter if we could order about 3-4 of them got into a discussion of whose table it was. Again, it was "Not Very Crowded". Wait Staff had a very I DON'T CARE attitude. This is a nice location & setup. Food was ok & price was reasonable, BUT SERVICE NEEDS TO BE GREATLY IMPROVED. We were informed about a 45min time limit if they were busy, but as poor & slow as service was it took about that long to get your meal after you are seated.

I have read a couple of terrible comments about the Runway Grill I believe are not true. I have been there a few times and it is what it is. The view is great, the service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the food is good. It’s not a gourmet French restaurant, but the word "grill" kind of says it all. If you are in Denver, and happen to find yourself at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan (KBJC) stop by, I have a feeling you won't be too disappointed.

After reading comments by Rinkenberger and Bednar, I felt compelled to reply. Their experiences at the Runway Grill are entirely different from mine. I have always been seated and served quickly. The food is tasty, freshly prepared, good variety, and affordable. I have worked at KBJC since 2000. When I have visitors, business or personal, I take them to the Runway Grill because of my positive experiences. I go there two or three times a month, sometimes for lunch and sometimes for dinner. I have never had a problem there, and so I will continue to recommend it to everyone.

Although the view of the runway and ramps are great, the food is below average for the price and the service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I have been to the Runway Grill a couple of times that I flown in and found that the service is consistently poor and the wait staff in essence ignores you where you have to ask for everything. This weekend, my daugther and I tried it again and the service was so poor and our order was completely wrong that I'd didn't tip the server. You'll get better food and service by driving 5 minutes to McDonald's down the street. Save your $$$ and find someplace else.

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS: This restaurant is not very good, over priced and Untrustworthy!! Employees of other business at the Airport (myself included) are well aware to stay clear.
