My vacuum pump went out over Akron and I needed a place to get it fixed on a Sunday. I talked to the controllers and they recommended Beaver County after calling to confirm that they had a mechanic available. I got a progressive taxi once I landed and ended up at Prospect Aviation. Prospect told me that they did have a mechanic, but not one that could work on a vacuum pump until Monday. Ugh! The people at Prospect called the controllers to see if there was someone else available on the field. As it turns out, they were able to direct me to Scriva Aviation Maintenance on the field. Sam was hanging out on a hot Sunday afternoon, had the part(!), and had me flying again after about 2.5 hours on the ground. Incredible. Not sure if there was a mixup by Prospect, but they helped me find Scriva. It was a very lucky Sunday afternoon all around! If you're stranded at BVI and need a mechanic on a weekend, Sam Scriva (724) 622-9284 was awesome!

Very friendly helpful staff. I would definitely go back to the airport and would consider Prospect for the people. I am concerned about the price gauging in Jet A. Their prices are as high as major airports in the area for gas. There is another FBO on the field that has fuel for $1 less. It is self serve but that price difference to me is gauging. If I knew their prices were so high I would have used someone else. The people are great however and that means a lot to me and my overall flying experience.

Flying from Westchester PA to Akron OH, severe thunderstorms along the OH/PA border forced me to land somewhere to wait for the storm to pass. Luckily, I chose BVI and taxied to Prospect Aviation. With room in their hangar they pulled the plane in, offered us every convenience, let us use one of their vehicles to drive out for some dinner, and could not have been more helpful. First class operation and people.

We couldn't have asked for better service. Some of the best customer service I have received in years!
