Made two stops here, one east bound one weast bound, one week apart. The airport looks deserted but the self serve pump and card reader work great, no trouble of any kind. Clean rest room facilities and even had the air conditioning on and it felt good, nice relief from the summer heat. Runway is in good condition and the airport has an AWOS.

Bought 87UNL for $2.60/gal on January 10. I couldn't see prices posted, but seem very reasonable. Your CDMA or GSM cell phone will work fine here. Rest Rooms were clean.

Flew in on a Saturday place seemed deserted but they had a very easy to use self-serve. Fuel prices were good for the season. Very well maintained runway. Overall a great little cross-country stop.

Stopped in for cheap fuel and had no problems with card reader. Cell phone service works great. Good runway, cheap fuel, limited services, but lots of stuff within walking distance.

FYI; The airport has no phone and the city will not give out any cell numbers to call if you have any problems during your visit. You have to call the city offices during their normal work hours, so you are on your own on weekends. Not sure the city thinks much of the airport and its operation. Looks like the price is right for fuel though if you don't have any problems. Used to be a great airport. Hanger rent is 30 dollars a night according to Ron the gentleman that runs the airport. Will fly into SLN instead.

The adjacent Holiday Inn has a shuttle if you have luggage. The phone is 785-243-2700.

Great little airport. Strip was smooth and great approaches. FBO self serve fuel was painless and they provided a ladder as well. What a great place to stop headed east from Denver. I will be back. Thanks for providing such a nice place for the aviation community.

Not only 24 hour self serve (at a reasonable price) but a NEW Holiday Inn Express with indoor pool right on the property, a Pizza Hut directly across from it, and a Wal-Mart within walking distance!
