Extremely nice airport. The lady in charge at the FBO came on the Unicom frequency and offered the current winds. Nice touch. When I pulled up to the gas pump, she helped me ground the airplane, after fueling helped me retract the fuel hose and then offered a tour of all the great pictures of past aviators that decorate the walls of the "ready room." All in all a great experience. Still the most reasonable fuel prices in N. California. Definitely stop.

We had to sneak into Calaveras when Westover was socked in this Thanksgiving. The FBO folks were totally helpful and friendly. We were able to let our new kitty out of the carrier in the FBO and she had the run of the place! A young fellow helped us unload the Mooney, and we really appreciated that! Thanks so much for the hospitality!

Just want to echo everyone else's comments. Calaveras generally has the lowest prices on fuel in this part of California and you can not beat the frendlieness of the folks here. From the daily danishes and muffins, to the all day coffee, right down to the cat in the lobby this is classic small town airport at it's best. You are made to feel like one of the family as soon as you walk in. I need to visit more often.

I make this a weekly stop as they are some of the friendliest folks and always have some of the best fuel prices in California. Because of the elevation, this airport is often above the winter valley fog that settles in the San Joaquin Valley.

Stopped for gas on Jun 14. Best price in area, and you can get an additional 5% off with the Air BP Visa card. FBO closed on Sundays, but SS pump is easy to use and the receipt printer works.

Rental cars are available through 49er Subaru of Angel's Camp 209-736-4949 ask for Allen - he'll leave the car at the airport, and the keys in the office. Did a quick trip for some caving fun - Moaning Caverns is nearby, as is California Cavern. Also enjoyed a great lunch in the nearby city of Murphys. Great trip, great people!!!

I flew in on Aug 4th for a quick visit and fuel. The starter did not turn over, and I was missing a few tools to remove the cowling. Teri came to the rescue with some tools, and in about 30 min I was up and running. Thanks for the help.

Beautiful airport, nice runway, very friendly people and low fuel price as advertised. Kathy was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. I'll be back.

Great fuel prices, and a great group of people! Plan to spend time there to view the pictures detailing the history of this airport, and looking around at the unique aircraft under restoration or construction. Kathy has been a fixture at Calaveras County Airport for more than 3 decades, and her commitment to this airport is a rare commodity in general aviation today.
