Flew in on July 02 and we were promptly greeted. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Fuel is high but we prepared for that accordingly. On leaving, they provided great instructions and took us right to the aircraft. All in all, much better and easier than I had imagined. This was on a moderately busy day.

Cliff, the evening Customer Service Professional is just that...PROFESSIONAL! Seemed very eager to help out a couple of guys in a C172. Walked over to the maintenance center to ask about a problem we were having with the aircraft, and then offered to help with our bags and drive us to the hotel. Once at the hotel, I realized I might have left a digital camera in the car. Cliff went right out and checked for me, and called me back within 3 minutes to tell me he found it and was holding it at the counter for me. I have managed FBOs, and this is exactly the type of service-oriented employee a Manager can only dream of having on his/her team! Way to go Cliff!!

Prices are unconscionable, especially for a little airport. Ramp & overnight fees simply out of bounds topped off by equally high avgas price. Buy minimum quantity of fuel and ramp and one night parking waved. Bought enough for that and got the other 150 gallons a short distance away for $2.38/gal less! When I enquired about the charges I got answers that "didn't stack up". As we waded through those the last one was that "this is a destination airport". Sounds like they simply will charge what they want to. Line service upon arrival was excellent, I thought. Rudder gust lock on this plane best not in place while it is being towed. Line fellow said he would put it in after it was positioned and tied down. Showed him how to do it. Next day no gust lock! Found it inside the FBO. Golf cart used to bring a handicapped passenger to the plane at departure time arrived as I was crawling under the wing to untie. That fellow offered no help, just drove off. Hope I don't have to go here often!

Flew in for a four-day biz trip. Everyone was friendly, but inattentive. Examples: Called from the air for rental car. No answer on ARINC. Reached Miracle Strip on UNICOM when taxiing, and advised of rental car. When lineman came out, he had no idea, and when radioed back, central had no idea. When I walked into the FBO, there was my fax, car folder and keys, sitting on the desk for all to see. On the return, I arrived and called the desk to have the plane fueled. When checked back 40 minutes later, they were "working on it right now." Took 55 minutes before the desk was ready to check me out. This on a day when the desk was talking about "how slow it is." Really, gang; with a ramp fee and $7 fuel, I think I had a right to expect a little better.

At a time when General Aviation is facing user fee threats, high fuel cost, and lack of public support, you would think that FBO's would get the fact that many of the corporate and timeshare jets that fly into the area, would also be private small piston plane pilots. These pilots might just want to fly their family to the beautiful beaches of Destin. I would recommend that if you do, you have plenty of patience and financial resources. I am based at Destin. The based small piston planes are going away to other local airports due to the heavy jet traffic, the extremely high fuel cost and the lack of interest in parking a small single engine. The FBO just recently raised the tie down 100%. Expect that your overnight will go up accordingly. Local airports have fuel as much as $2.00/gal less. Suggest that you top off somewhere else. We all believe we should support our FBO, but when the FBO goes to the extreme it is difficult to support them.

Come here often and have never gotten the exceptional service that other folks write about. You have to beg to get your airplane brought up and there is always reasons why they cant get to it even when there is no traffic and everyone is sitting around. Fuel is way to expensive..Over $7.00 for Jet A. It’s Destin not New York and the ramp fee is above the norm in my opinion. I wouldn't have a problem paying the $200 for my jet if I got $200 worth of service.

Just another jet center. They're nice enough, but they won't go out of their way for a piston airplane, and they have the most expensive fuel I've ever bought. If you have an alternative, go there. If you don't (and Destin does have the most beautiful beaches in the world, although it's getting much overcrowded), it's fine. But tanker your own fuel if you can.

A 200.00 ramp fee for a small jet on the ramp for 1 hr is ridiculous. I would expect this kind of charge from Signature Miami but this is a small facility. The linemen have their lockers in the pilot lounge, which is kind of annoying when you are relaxing waiting for your flight.

Flew in on a beautiful but windy Saturday for a $100 hamburger with a friend and our kids. Lineman on the spot, taking away any guesswork and worries, with valet parking. Facility was A+, very roomy, super-clean, and tech-friendly. Staff was sharp and professional. Loaned us one of their many crew cars, which were all like new and sparkling. It's a quick drive to many great restaurants (and a nearby water/amusement park if time permits), we chose "The Back Porch" which was beyond fantastic with a view of the waves breaking about 20' away! Shoes came off and the kids got to play in the sand for a bit before the quick trip back to KDTS to find our baby topped off and ready. Quick checkout, and a helpful flyer to explain the Eglin departure procedures (a must-read, don't forget!). Like everyone mentioned, the fuel is quite pricy, but the amenities that come with it are ALL first-class!

I've flown into DTS for many years. During my last trip I asked for the windshield to be cleaned and to top off my oil to 9 qts. Simple enough? The windshield was not cleaned (nor attempted to be cleaned) and the oil cap was left hanging by its chain. No big deal, I found the oil cap during pre-flight, so this wasn't a flight hazard. I really should have filed IFR with all the bugs on my windshield, however.

Fuel is pricey but service is exceptional. They forgot to fuel my plane so they waived their reasonable ramp charges. It was a packed weekend but you would never know it from the service. As we fly into Destin quite regularly I have noticed the service is quite exceptional and friendly with the line guys and front desk employees. I flew one of our salesman and several customers in one day earlier in the summer. Traci B. met us at the plane with her normally radiant smile and took a huge load of golf clubs and luggage we normally carry in allowing me to assist our pax with their rental car. Meanwhile Traci had taken their luggage to the rental car area, loaded it into the car, and we were able to have it up front waiting on the pax before they could run their paperwork. Traci is always polite, smiling, and very helpful in assisting us (pilots) and our pax which certainly makes our jobs a lot easier in the normally 90 degree temps in Destin. Hopefully management will hold onto employees like Traci as they have had some turnover of some very good employees since opening the new building.

I flew in on July 20 in my Archer for a weekend meeting and was guided right up to the front door. Linesmen there to help immediately. Our rental car was retrieved for us and brought right up to the plane. Nothing but professional and courtesy service. When returning to the airport on July 22 I called ahead and asked the plane be fueled to the tabs and when I arrived it was done exactly as I had requested previously. Counter folks at the FBO and the rental car service desk were both very helpful. This is a busy airport in a great vacation location. I can see where the airport and its staff can be extremely busy at times but it appeared to me they have got their service down to a science and really work hard to please the customer. The fuel prices are higher than what smaller airports charge but not much different than what I see at major airport FBOs. Personally I was extremely pleased with the facilities, the staff and the location. Would highly recommend this FBO.

What a refreshing experience. My last comments were posted in Oct of 2005. My recent trip to Destin was nothing like the last. Linemen were waiting for us on taxi, picked up our luggage, brought the plane around fueled in a timely fashion, and were altogether very friendly and helpful. My thanks to Bonnie and Chuck at Miracle Strip and Shonda at Enterprise rental car! 3 weeks ago as I leveled off at 9K ft, my wife asked if I picked up her purse out of the rental car..... Oops! CT at Caryns approach worked for 30 min while I was airborne to try to contact both Enterprise and Miracle Strip for my wife’s belongings. In short order, the personal items were found and UPS shipped back to us the following week. Thanks to all of you who fielded phone calls on this matter and there are many of you at Miracle Strip who I simply cannot remember your names but did help significantly. I appreciate all of you as a LARGE Headache was avoided. Thanks again to CT at Caryns (sp) as none of this would have been possible without your willingness to help! Flew into this airport in A Piper Arrow III. There is 1 word I can say about this airport. Awesome!!!. You have to be careful when landing on runway 32, there are hotels and condos right on the approach that you come close to when landing. When we arrived we were greeted when we got to the FBO. Very nice FBO to. When we left we got to the FBO and asked to fuel up our Arrow. It took a while because there is a lot of traffic in this airport. Very reasonable fuel prices. I fly in and out of Destin airport regularly and I will have to say that the service is way below standards. The line staff will park you but don't expect much more from them. They can have a line guy drive by on a cart and not even stop to offer the passengers a ride up to the FBO. They always charge a ramp fee even if you only open the door to let passengers out. Don't get me wrong I know they are there to make money but if you don't even go inside and you don't use any of there services that is a little much. Once I landed there around 5:30 am and the FBO was closed so the crew sat outside until 6:00 when they opened. We walked in once they opened the door and right away they started charging us for a ramp fee. I guess that was for sitting outside in their chairs in the dark. Right now they are the only FBO on the field but thank GOD a new FBO is being build and as soon as it is open I will be going there.

Just got back from a week stay over the Christmas holiday. We stayed a week, purchased 40 gallons of fuel, came by three times to check on the plane, ate a few cookies each time. On each trip the counter and ramp people treated us great. In fact, after seeing the past comments, I thought we would be lucky for them to grunt, but I thought we were well attended. I saw no overnight charge for our stay and no handling charge either. Maybe the 4.84 a gallon makes up for some of it, but still these guys need to make money somehow. We have always found the staff to be professional, helpful and courteous and the FBO is nice. The only gripe we have is with whoever is setting (gouging is a better word) the fuel prices and ramp fees. We paid 3.39 a gal for avgas in Knoxville the same day that the Miracle Strip is charging $4.95! I expect the gas to be a little higher at Destin due to the additional services and I do not mind paying a little more for that service, but charging that much more is just simply greed. I fly in to this airport several times a year but I always flight plan so that I do not have to buy my fuel there because of their excessive prices.

I fly in and out of DTS at least twice a week and have been doing so for about a year. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. I go in and out of here all the time. Miracle Strip's new building GREAT. However, they get very busy all the time and it's tough getting in and out of there quickly. I fly into Destin about twice a month. Last trip, on departure run-up, left mag was running extremely rough. I taxied back to the maintenance hangar (in my Cherokee Six), which was full of high-powered twins being worked on, and Mike (the maintenance mgr) met me as I exited the plane. Despite it being July 5th, one of the busiest departure days for DTS, Mike and his crew cleaned my #6 spark plug and had me going within one hour. Any FBO at a busy, corporate-jet packed airport that provides such courteous and expedient service to the "little guy" will always get my most sincere appreciation. And to all the negative postings regarding supposed lack of service and high fuel prices: try driving into Destin, from anywhere. Run that gauntlet just once and you'll be happy to pay what they ask to avoid that mess. Consider yourself lucky to be able to fly into one of the most beautiful areas of the U.S.!! I certainly do.

Certainly this FBO could use some competition, but it's impossible to say that it's all that bad. Primarily, they are just extremely busy. Landing, we had a hard time getting a lineman to show us where to go, he was busy with two airplanes in front of me. They did get us parked, and were very courteous, though. We got the $30 ramp fee waived and one night of tiedown ($12) waived, too, because we bought gas. Rented an Enterprise car, but they promised one thing on the phone and gave us another thing when we got there. Enterprise is always a bit disappointing, it seems. The oddest thing is that, trying to get through the gate with a rental car took repeated trips into the FBO where they said they were opening the gate, but wouldn't until we went back in and asked again and again. That happened both arriving and leaving. There are operations every few minutes in Destin during the day, jets and turboprops and everything else galore. Busy! Get there early to avoid the crowds.

Previous comment is correct: posted price for 100LL is now $5.10, while guarantee (whatever that means in the FBO) is $5.05. "Ramp fee" charged even though I parked, tied down and lugged my bags up to the FBO without assistance (same on the way out). Counter person slipped & called it a 'landing fee.' Pilots' lounge to the right of the counter: coffee and hot chocolate and shower room with towels in the lounge area. Nice. Courtesy (crew) cars have a 2 hour limit.

The folks outside were nice. The folks inside didn't seem to care. I paid $5.05 and they have a supposed guarantee of $4.95. They don't have a baggage cart inside, or electric doors, so you are on your own. It's much less expensive to rent a car from Enterprise than pay $25 each way from DTS to SanDestin Hilton. They did charge a tie down fee of $8 for my 182, which isn't bad since they waived one night since I bought fuel. Overall, I was not impressed with Miracle and would not recommend them. Flight in to Destin for the long Easter weekend was without trouble. Flight out; not so, despite beautiful clear conditions. It was a fairly busy departure period and Eglin did not respond, for at least ten minutes, to my repeated calls for a VFR departure on two different frequencies. After finally responding, it took another fifteen minutes to receive a transponder code. Meanwhile IFR departures received immediate response, clearance and release. At least now I know I must file IFR to receive prompt service at this airport. Suggest VFR departures get your business with Eglin taken care of before leaving the parking spot so you don't hold up other aircraft. When I took my place in the loooong departure line, I never believed I would not have clearance before reaching the number one position. Especially considering that IFR departures calling for clearance and release when number two or three received it immediately.

The ramp and parking fees are for real. Ramp fee for an MU-2 was $60 plus $20 per night parking. Ramp fee and one night's parking is waived for buying 60 or more gallons of fuel at $4.54 per gallon. According to my math, much better to pay these fees and tanker much cheaper fuel from home. If fuel prices were competitive, I would have gladly bought fuel. The ramp was quite full and I guess this is just a case of "what the traffic will bear". It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I flew in the late evening. The ramp space is very tight and the lineman brought me in then asked me what I needed. I let him know I would be staying overnight and asked if he could call the front desk to call a taxi for me. While getting out my baggage he drove up in a van, picked up my bags, and drove me to my hotel. The next morning they came by and picked me up too. I also believe that MSA's prices are outrageous. I used to base here when I lived in Destin, and would only buy the minimum amount of fuel here, and only when absolutely necessary. Precision over in Panama City has self serve that is always cheaper and a beautiful flight down the coast too. There have been rumors for years about a competing FBO going in across the field. Local homeowners keep gripping that it will increase Jet traffic to the field and getting it postponed. Destin needs some competition. It's a beautiful place to go, if you can overlook the FBO :(

Prompt service, very nice people, new crew cars, expensive fuel, VERY NICE AIRPORT CLOSE TO THE BEACH, I recommend "Another broken Egg" cafe for breakfast (only a few miles of the airport, ask the front desk person), really enjoyed my short visit.

I fly to Destin on a regular basis (approx. 4 times a week) and I always have great service. This is an extremely busy airport to not have a tower...things can get pretty busy on the ramp. The only problems I've had there are getting your airplane pulled up front before you leave. It's not uncommon to ask 3 or 4 times before you see any movement by the line crew. Overall though...great experiences. How long til the new building opens??

Great airport. I flew in on the 23 Dec for dinner... I live in Panama City, not much in PC. I have read all the post and yes the fuel is expensive, there is a ramp fee, and yes, there is a overnight tie-down fee. So what? Flying is not cheap. The ladies at the corner offered me and my family prompt service, a crew car (as long as you buy 10 gallons), and nothing but holiday cheer. The fuel cost $48 dollars for 10 gallons (55 dollars for car rental; if I had to get one), a free crew car to go out and eat... I feel that is a "push". I will go back for sure... often. P.S. Just in case anyone was wondering... I'm not rich; I'm an enlisted man in the military, so I don't just throw money around like the "rich and famous".

$10 ramp fee if less than 10 gallons of fuel purchased. Plus $8 daily tie-down (hopefully tied down) for singles. Used to waive a day's tie down if fuel purchased. Lots of new faces on the ramp, so watch when your plane is 'handled.' Pancho got promoted to Line Supt. (good) but don't know how long he'll stay.

Was there over Labor Day. Fuel is outrageous and service was well below expectation. No lineman until after I shut down. Parked the plane in the 'back-forty' and told me that they were far too busy to bring it up. Eventually they did bring it up. (I have them an hour's notice, and it took an hour and 45min). I was looking to head to Destin again, however it I would find it difficult to visit Miracle Strip. Over $5 a gallon for very inferior service is well beyond criminal.

Gas price are astronomical! Plus they now have a ramp fee. Sounds like good ole Signature, eh? They are way too high for comparable prices around there, it's a shame they are price gouging!

What a ripoff, was 4.19 when I planned the flight, then 5.70 when I got there later that day, their prices are way out of line, even New Orleans prices were cheaper. My home base is still 3.25 so where is this cost increase coming from?

You thought it was a rip off before the $1.00 increase? Hmmmmm

The fuel prices are higher than New York's!!! The checkout procedures for renting aircraft are decent, but the instructor staff is VERY questionable. Please check the weather yourself before flying, don't rely on individuals who want to build hours or get that extra cash for x-mas.

While the mere fact of flying is expensive it has always been for me a trusted environment. I trust those that fuel my plane to those that tell me the charges and ask for my credit card or payment. If new to an FBO I wait with the aircraft until the fueling is complete and assured the line person is providing the service and fuel I am paying for. Since I'm often in Destin as Niceville, Fl is home I've come to trust the service provided by Miracle Strip Aviation. However, while DTS is undergoing improvements and addition to their staff I'm surprised by the lack of thoroughness that we often associate with modern FBOs. For the immediate future I will be present during the fueling and ticket turn in to avoid any surprises at DTS. Suggest everyone do the same until there is consensus of status quo at DTS.
