This is several months after the fact, but I am sure things have not changed too much. I flew into Ely for a steam train ride. The crew at the airport was very friendly in a casual, not forced courtesy, manner. Someone met me at the tiedown as I taxied up and had me lashed down before I was even out of the plane. Plane was fueled exactly the way I wanted it when we came back to the airport. Granted, if you are going to Ely, NV you don't have many choices, but it is nice to know your one option is a good one.

On arrival my wife was having serious medical symptoms. Sherry and Jimmy Flanagan and Mike Coster (airport manager) went out of their way to help us deal successfully with the issue. This is very pilot-friendly stop, and we are headed back to ELY soon.

James and Walter were very hospitable. We needed a quik turn and some lunch. Neither was any problem for them. By the time the fuel was pumped and the bill paid the hamburgers were ready with ample time to spare. Just wanted to say watch out for the gliders in the area.

This is my regular fuel stop between Idaho and Phoenix. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. I was fueled up and on my way in 20 minutes. Even picked up one of their cool t-shirts. Lots of sailplane activities at this airport, so keep your eyes moving.

Stopped for gas on a cross country trip from Seattle to Phoenix. Called :20 out and didn't realize it was 5:00 pm and the FBO was set to close. They stayed and waited for me, which was very much appreciated and excellent customer service. It's a quiet airport and FBO, excellent turn around time and over 6, 000 so it minimizes the descent and climb back to cruising altitude!
