Another great stop at FEP. The retired police cruiser serving as a courtesy car is a hoot and allowed me to visit people in the Freeport area. Thanks again to Angie and the boys of Freeport!

Got weathered in at Freeport on a return trip from Mesa, AZ (only 33 nm from home but could not make it the rest of the way). When I said I was headed to Poplar Grove (C77) Angie noted that there was someone (Dwight Deny) from there working on an airplane and he could perhaps give me a ride. Angie contacted Dwight who was kind enough to give me a ride to C77 thus saving my wife from having to pick me up. As if that wasn't enough, it gets better. Weather didn't allow me to pick up the airplane for 4 days. When I arrived to pick it up, it had been moved into a hangar so I would not have to clean the snow off it or preheat the engine prior to departure. I have met many nice people and received good service in my years of flying, but this is hard to beat. If you have the chance (you don't have to get weathered in to do it) make Freeport one of your stops, you will not be disappointed by the staff or service.

Competitive prices and great service. I appreciate the staff's attention and their efforts to keep aviation affordable. Great place to stop for fuel and two very nice grass runways.

Stopped here for overnight in my Waco YMF-5. Great grass runway available. Very friendly and helpful staff. Given courtesy car for drive into reasonably priced hotel. Will stop by again when passing through.

The FBO, although small, has everything you need. 100LL is available at a stationary fuel pump with the staff doing the pumping. Nice airport, nice people..I'll be back.

We will continue to come back to Freeport due to the outstanding service provided by Darrell and Angie Janssen. The American Barnstormers Flying Circus success offering biplane flights during the Stephenson County Fair was a direct result of their effort and support, not to mention the smoothest grass runways we have landed on to date. Friendly and helpful beyond belief, FEP is on our list for 2010.
