Landed on a XC helo ferry flight and this quiet VA airport is a great fuel stop. I believe the young Lady's name was Theresa who helped us out when we had a slight problem getting the Jet A to prime, but one call quick fix and on our way..

For about 15 years this has been one of my favorite stops when I travel south. Long runway, big ramp, and wide open spaces, cheap gas. Well the runway and ramp haven't changed, but this airport just isn't what it used to be. The maintenance hangar has been torn down and mechanic is gone. The airport is unattended. Gas has gone up, and the self-service pump is very finicky. It took me 3 attempts to get gas out of it. I may still stop there, but Tuck has cheaper gas and the pump works better.

I came late and left early but found nearly all I could want! There was a nice loveseat / bed to crash at for the night. The fuel was easy to use and easy to pay. I found some chocks handy and put the plane to perch. If I came through again at night, I would have appreciated access to the courtesy car without a call up in advance, but being from the Midwest, I know the East has not the easy security we enjoy.
