Founded in 1985 by Richard Polidori, Lanmar Aviation began as a helicopter charter operation. The business relocated in 2001 from the Chester Airport to the Groton-New London Airport whereupon Polidori expanded the charter business and constructed a 25,000 square foot full service base operation which houses a sizable fleet of helicopters and jets and supports an Aircraft Management division.
Lanmar's facilities now encompass 90,000 square feet of office and hangar space. Notes Polidori, "Our goal is simple: to anticipate, meet and exceed the evolving needs of the general aviation community". This signals a new level of aviation customer support at the Groton-New London Airport.
Our highly trained and friendly line and maintenance staff is here to give you the full service that you deserve at the Groton-New London Airport... Remember WHEN SERVICE MATTERS...CHOOSE LANMAR.

Inbound to KGON lost the lamp in my Sandel 3308. The front desk contacted Jack Shields who jumped in and ordered a new bulb overnighted from Sandel and had it installed when it arrived the next morning. Kudos to Jack and the Lanmar crew. I will return.

Had a slight problem with getting topped off with fuel when I didn't want to be. They took care of it for me and put air in my tires while they were at it. They have a good crew over there.

James Edwards went way beyond the call of duty for us. The GA after-hours coded gate was broken, and the airport manager was of no help whatsoever in arranging entry back on the field at midnight. James offered on his own to come back and open the Lanmar facility at no charge so we could get to the plane. What an outstanding young man!!

Weather was bad and I landed in a PC-12, my pasenger was there in his limo and ready to go. He asked how was the weather can we get out of here. I said yes. Then one of your line guys says in front of my pax "you're not going anywhere." Don't tell me how to do my job. To that line guy we went non-stop from GON to PBI. Tricks of the trade on how to get out with ground stops going on.

We stopped at Lanmar last weekend in our C182. Everyone working there treated us admirably. Our car was brought to us, and everything was handled professionally and everyone friendly! We had a cooler spill in the back of the airplane, and the linemen were great helping us. We had to leave the cargo door open for drying. On the day we left, we found that our cargo door had been closed as promised, and the carpet was dry. Mike helped us with our rental car, and made our departure effortless. We were just about to taxi, when Mike came running out with my driver's license from our rental car! I had stupidly left it in the cup-holder and Mike was efficient, found it, and got it to me before we left!! Thank you, Mike!! We recommend this FBO, and will be back.

I always receive fantastic service here. Recently, we had a late night pick up that we needed to turn quickly, CODY from line service was the only one there. He was quick and efficient in providing services and helped us get 30 people and bags in and out in 20 mins. THANKS!

The purpose of this letter is to recognize Lanmar Aviation for their outstanding support of the New England Bonanza Group (NEBG) Fly-In to Groton, CT, on May 17, 2008. In particular, the NEBG would like to commend James Edwards. Mr. Edwards volunteered one of Lanmar's large hangars for the breakfast and donated use of Lanmar's van. He personally handled all arrangements with the field, provided friendly and capable personnel to help get the planes parked, and also provided discounted fuel for the Fly-In participants. I have kept my Bonanza in a Lanmar T-Hangar for over two years, so I am accustomed to their commitment to service and customer satisfaction. However, their support of the Fly-In exceeded even their high standards. In a world where customer service seems like lost art, Lanmar aviation, and their entire staff, is a breath of fresh air.

Returned to Lanmar April 5-8 Louise got us a car & a room on short notice. The service and people are great. Louise remembered my comment on AirNav July 24 2007 on landing fee and tie down fee and said they were too much and credited me for the difference.

I highly recommend Lanmar Aviation! I arrived with my airplane having avionics difficulties. Lanmar put me in touch with Jack Shields. His team immediately set to work. At first they couldn't duplicate the problem; they persistently chased the "queer-trons" until finally they found it. The honest assessment was "We can't fix it, best to replace it." Next, Jack and his team did a lot of research. Jack handed me all the information, with options. And the topper is, he didn't charge me a penny - unheard of in aviation today. They put my airplane back together and away I went - back to Atlanta. The entire team at Lanmar, line guys to the front desk staff ALL went above and beyond the call of duty for me. I showed up as just an "everyday customer", but flew out thinking that the folks at Lanmar know how to treat their every day customers right! Thank you very much for your kind hospitality Lanmar - I WILL BE BACK!

I keep my Cirrus SR22 in one of the T-hangars that Lanmar manages on the airport. The line staff is always courteous, helpful and prompt when I need a top off. The maintenance shop became an authorized Cirrus Center approximately one year ago. Bill Kluepfel and Jack Shields (the Avionics manager) have been providing me with top-notch service. I highly recommend them to any Cirrus owner or any other pilot in the area who needs maintenance or repair work on his/her airplane.

Great avionics shop, very professional and friendly. Jack Shields, formerly of Columbia, now avionics manager at Lanmar has done extensive work on my last two airplanes, a Comanche and a F-33 Bonanza, We have been more then satisfied with his work and his follow-up.

Top notch avionics shop. Worked on my STEC Autopilot and King Radar on my Piper Meridian. Jack Shields is the Avionics Manager (used to work at Columbia). He's a great combination of avionics expertise, customer service, and a "nice guy." Ask to be added to the distribution list for his "Lanmar Avionics Newsletter."

After dropping off pax at Lanmar we discovered a maintenance issue. After hours for even the line service, the maintenance manager himself drove out to the airport while the line tech patiently waited. After performing night-saving maintenance for us, they wouldn't even take a dime. Thanks to this top-notch group of people. We can't thank you enough.

Flew in to GON for the week Lanmar service was great getting us a rental car from Hertz with a good weekly rate. The car was on the ramp waiting for use at arrival. All Lanmar's people were a pleasure to deal with. I was a little surprised with the $8.00 landing fee and $15.00 per night parking fee. I guess that's the price for landing in CT.

We stopped by in a Robinson R44 to inspect the service facility (we also have a Cirrus SR20 that never likes to spend too much time away from a warranty service center) and were impressed by the work that we saw underway (mostly on jets) and the attitudes of the guys.

Lanmar, an authorized Cirrus Service Center with both airframe and avionics capability hosted a representative from L3 Communications to address a problem for me. The service in every aspect was excellent! Dave who performed the work is a real craftsman who takes obvious pride in the quality and neatness of his work. They were fast and got the job done. Very pleasant facility, clean and comfortable. Great casual Italian restaurant next door. I would recommend Lanmar to any New England Cirrus owner.

Outstanding experience at Lanmar. Yes, they provided rental car, prompt line service and all that. Handsome facility with pilot lounge. But they went beyond the normal FBO. My girlfriend's 80-year-old parents went there to meet us and were treated with respect and made comfortable. Lanmar must have monitored our flight because we were late, but they told her folks precisely when we'd arrive. Storms were coming and they hangared my Cirrus for four days at $25/night - very reasonable I thought. Finally, their maintenance manager, Bob, fixed a broken landing light lenses cover for me gratis; I had the part delivered from Cirrus. All in all great people, friendly and professional. I'll be back.

While visiting Groton, my Bonanza had an engine problem. Lanmar did a good job of inspecting it, ordering the parts and got me going again in short order. They saw a problem I did not even know I had. In short, everyone at Lanmar were helpful and friendly, had me flying again in short order, and I would use them again.
