After experiencing a mechanical problem in flight, I landed a company Cirrus SR22 in Groton. I met Johnny Locke, who immediately responded to my need and in short time I was on my way continuing my flight. On behalf of Empire Flight Academy I thank Johnny and Lanmar.

I had an avionics issue that some of my friends said could be resolved by calling Jack Shields of Lanmar Aviation in Groton. After numerous phone calls explaining what was happening to my Autopilot. Jack came up with a plan. I took the airplane there so he can see and test what I was telling him which he did. He suggested that I take the unit back to my original installer and have him do some specific tweaking, which he thinks will correct the problem. He did not charge for his time and advice even though he clearly was entitled to it. That is the reputation he has. But he also does quality and fairly priced work according to the pilots who have used him.

My wife and I fly into GON frequently on day trips and I can say without reservation that the staff at Lanmar is the most professional and the most outstanding of all the FBO's we've ever visited in our flying experiences in the Northeast corridor. Robert and Wayne have been particularly helpful with all of our needs and their professionalism is second to none. The line service personnel have gone out of their way on several occasions to accommodate all of our needs......special kudos to Carl. Even the GON Tower makes us feel welcome when we visit....especially one controller whose name is unknown. He is very down to earth in his style and his anticipation of our intentions...both upon arrival and departure. We will always return to GON and Lanmar Aviation... Thanks for all your hospitality.

I was there 3 times in the past week. Desk personnel were extremely helpful. Ramp fee waived since I was buying fuel, no landing fee for my Cessna 172 either. Mohegan Sun a 15-20 minute ride. $24 flat fee with Harry's taxi.

Lanmar Aviation did a great job while visiting overnight with my Baron.Parking was fast, safe and when I called to ask if they could leave the aircraft in a spot that it would not be towed, compliance was no issue. After meeting with line service, I believe they could have towed my aircraft around the field and it would have been in safe hands.A good thought for those of us who are crazy about the care of our aircraft. Front desk staff very helpful and also knows there business. In a world with few caring and someone throwing a wheel chock at you(if your lucky)this FBO was a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the service. Drew Brown. Independent Aviation Services Inc.

Flew in this weekend to GON and decided to try Lanmar based upon all the AirNav comments. THEY WERE RIGHT! Fabulous customer service. Robert did a great job at coordinating the car to Mohegan Sun on arrival, as well as being super cheerful and nice. The plane was fueled and on line at the correct time, and we were greeted by name. We were delayed for 4 hours by WX, and Darryl was helpful to us, as well as Robert. They provided crew car, helpful suggestions and general hospitality the entire time, asking often if there was anything else they could do. HIGHLY recommend this as an FBO.

Stopped in for 4th of July fireworks. On the way out (after 2200) needed a hand with a nav light replacement on a wingtip. Thank you Carl for helping me. It would not have been easy to do it with a flashlight clinched between my teeth. Your commitment to service is extraordinary.

Prior to arrival at GON, I had sent a couple of emails to Lanmar Aviation inquiring about fees and the cost of a wash and wax for my C172. Each email was promptly and thoroughly responded to by the proprietor Mr. James Edwards. I arrived at Lanmar Aviation and was promptly met by a very helpful lineman. I paid $100.00 for the wash and wax, which included two nights in a hangar. The service was excellent. I recommend this FBO and certainly would use their services again.

Jack Shields and Lanmar Aviation is the best avionics shop in the Northeast. Jack diagnosed and repaired a difficult autopilot problem for my SR22. He also did a nice job on my WAAS upgrade, saving me a lot of money and aggravation by using a little common sense. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my plane now.

LANMAR handled our aircraft in a professional manner and met all of the expectations from the crew. All the tools the crew needed to accomplish a successful mission were at our disposal. Our clients with Flightworks were discretely moved from the aircraft to ground transportation without any exposure. The departure was after hours from LANMAR and arranged at a reasonable rate. Carl in line service was very helpful with an on time departure. Thank you!

We expect good service from all of the FBO's that we use but this is about great service. We flew our Meridian into Groton yesterday to drop a friend of ours off at Lanmar. Before the engine was shut down, two employees were at the plane saying that we had a major oil leak from the engine. Jack Shields gave us the crew car and we went to lunch. Upon our return the starter generator was removed, new seals were installed and the reassembly was almost completed. The run up was dry. The maintenance department arranged to send the bill to Pratt and Whitney, tanks were topped with discounted fuel and we were on our way south before sunset. If you want stellar mechanical or avionics service, Lanmar is for you. Arnold Sperling, M.D. N999NG

James Edwards went way beyond the call of duty for us. The GA after-hours coded gate was broken, and the airport manager was of no help whatsoever in arranging entry back on the field at midnight. James offered on his own to come back and open the Lanmar facility at no charge so we could get to the plane. What an outstanding young man!!

Weather was bad and I landed in a PC-12, my pasenger was there in his limo and ready to go. He asked how was the weather can we get out of here. I said yes. Then one of your line guys says in front of my pax "you're not going anywhere." Don't tell me how to do my job. To that line guy we went non-stop from GON to PBI. We stopped at Lanmar last weekend in our C182. Everyone working there treated us admirably. Our car was brought to us, and everything was handled professionally and everyone friendly! We had a cooler spill in the back of the airplane, and the linemen were great helping us. We had to leave the cargo door open for drying. On the day we left, we found that our cargo door had been closed as promised, and the carpet was dry. Mike helped us with our rental car, and made our departure effortless. We were just about to taxi, when Mike came running out with my driver's license from our rental car! I had stupidly left it in the cup-holder and Mike was efficient, found it, and got it to me before we left!! Thank you, Mike!! We recommend this FBO, and will be back.

The purpose of this letter is to recognize Lanmar Aviation for their outstanding support of the New England Bonanza Group (NEBG) Fly-In to Groton, CT, on May 17, 2008. In particular, the NEBG would like to commend James Edwards. Mr. Edwards volunteered one of Lanmar's large hangars for the breakfast and donated use of Lanmar's van. He personally handled all arrangements with the field, provided friendly and capable personnel to help get the planes parked, and also provided discounted fuel for the Fly-In participants. I have kept my Bonanza in a Lanmar T-Hangar for over two years, so I am accustomed to their commitment to service and customer satisfaction. However, their support of the Fly-In exceeded even their high standards. In a world where customer service seems like lost art, Lanmar aviation, and their entire staff, is a breath of fresh air.

I highly recommend Lanmar Aviation! I arrived with my airplane having avionics difficulties. Lanmar put me in touch with Jack Shields. His team immediately set to work. At first they couldn't duplicate the problem; they persistently chased the "queer-trons" until finally they found it. The honest assessment was "We can't fix it, best to replace it." Next, Jack and his team did a lot of research. Jack handed me all the information, with options. And the topper is, he didn't charge me a penny - unheard of in aviation today. They put my airplane back together and away I went - back to Atlanta. The entire team at Lanmar, line guys to the front desk staff ALL went above and beyond the call of duty for me. I showed up as just an "everyday customer", but flew out thinking that the folks at Lanmar know how to treat their every day customers right! Thank you very much for your kind hospitality Lanmar - I WILL BE BACK!

I keep my Cirrus SR22 in one of the T-hangars that Lanmar manages on the airport. The line staff is always courteous, helpful and prompt when I need a top off. The maintenance shop became an authorized Cirrus Center approximately one year ago. Bill Kluepfel and Jack Shields (the Avionics manager) have been providing me with top-notch service. I highly recommend them to any Cirrus owner or any other pilot in the area who needs maintenance or repair work on his/her airplane.

Flew in to GON for the week Lanmar service was great getting us a rental car from Hertz with a good weekly rate. The car was on the ramp waiting for use at arrival. All Lanmar's people were a pleasure to deal with. I was a little surprised with the $8.00 landing fee and $15.00 per night parking fee. I guess that's the price for landing in CT.

Lanmar, an authorized Cirrus Service Center with both airframe and avionics capability hosted a representative from L3 Communications to address a problem for me. The service in every aspect was excellent! Dave who performed the work is a real craftsman who takes obvious pride in the quality and neatness of his work. They were fast and got the job done. Very pleasant facility, clean and comfortable. Great casual Italian restaurant next door. I would recommend Lanmar to any New England Cirrus owner.
