Easy in and out. Best Western hotel came late at night to take me into town with advance notice. The hotel is newly renovated, has a Barron Aviation rate and I recommend it. Hannibal itself is a bit sleepy but would appeal to history buffs. Barron Aviation very helpful and accommodating. They have an outside plug by the blue aircraft tug for engine heaters. Reinsert credit card after fueling for receipt.

New management is great. Cheap fuel, nice courtesy car (Jeep Grand Cherokee). They should be starting on construction of new FBO any time... From what they told me.

From Darryl Hosford on 11-Aug-2009
Perfect fuel stop, with the best price of our entire trip. After hours access to the FBO is very appreciated. Thank you!

Wonderful, friendly airport. WX forced overnight stay; great support from FBO with crew car and hotel. Will be back.

From Dr. Vaughn DeCoster on 31-Jul-2009
Nice quiet airport, inexpensive fool, call ahead for code to enter FBO for bathrooms and computer access for wx.

Barron Aviation now runs Hannibal and service is excellent. Rental and courtesy cars are available. Fuel is inexpensive. Glider ops/training and powered flight training are up and running. Full time major mechanical is top notch and no ramp or tie down fees. Watch out for deer at dusk on or near the runway.

Deserted Saturday at sunset. No SS fuel. Should have been an $8. Cab ride...So call the competitor to the company listed on the airport sign. Sunday by 7am the FBO was open, sold me fuel with a smile. No tie down fee. Good overnight, but not an inexpensive town.

Hannibal Airport has been run down and under poor management in the past. New management has taken over and is doing a great job. There are 9 new hangars on the field and a new self-serve fueling station is in the works. Runways and taxiways have been recently re-surfaced. There are plenty of open tie downs and no tie down or landing fees. KHAE is now a nice place to stop for fuel or an overnight stay. There is quick taxi service to restaurants and hotels or B&Bs, which are minutes away. Hannibal has lots of historical and tourist attractions, mostly related to Mark Twain's hometown. If you have stopped in Hannibal in the past, you may have had a negative experience at the airport. I think your experience would be very positive now and we would like to get the word out.
