Flew in this past weekend in a 152 and stayed at the Harbor View Inn. Had a great time taking a break from it all - the lad and I strolled the town, went to Cafe Gibraltar, and enjoyed the slow pace of El Granada. FBO was a-okay. Were I to do this trip again, I'd park in the (somewhat hidden) south parking lot. I made the mistake of parking at the FBO/3-Zero cafe, and walked the long mile into town. Would've been way more pleasant had I known about the second parking lot. Anyway, now YOU know! :)

KHAF is a favorite "$150 lunch" flight. It's a busy field on a sunny weekend but everyone uses good radio communication so it's no problem to tuck in #4 in sequence for landing. Taxi to the 30 end of the field with the new paving and tie-downs make a walk to Princeton-by-the-Sea a must.

The south parking area next to the town has been recently resurfaced. There appears to now be around 30 tiedowns. Very nice.

I believe if you are a GA pilot on the west coast, KHAF is a MUST stop at least one time in your life. It is easily one of the prettiest airports around (especially when its clear) the staff is friendly, and there are plenty of great places to eat right by. I personally like Half Moon Bay more than Morro Bay, but that’s just me.

Just to update, finally did an overnight here. Fuel prices are reasonable for the area; I paid much more up in the Eureka area with less in the way of facilities. Self serve pump worked fine, printer broken. Overnight tie-down fee of $8.00 with no waiver at all for fuel purchase. Restaurant made us some pretty fair sandwiches to go, but was very busy on a Sunday so we had to wait a bit. Most of the restaurants in the touristy area south of the field are the same as 2 years ago and make a nice weekend stop. All in all a very nice place to stop for lunch and maybe some fuel.
