We flew in to Havasu several weekends ago from SoCal to do a pre-buy on an airplane and grab some lunch. Long story short, we couldn't get our 172 restarted. The Desert Skies folks were super helpful. They helped us troubleshoot, charge the battery, and jump it (to no avail; the battery wasn't the issue after all). Since we had to come back the next weekend with a fix, Desert Skies was nice enough to move the 172 to one of their parking spots. Full service gas was offered at a price that beat many of the self-service prices I've seen. The crew is really good at shuttling you about in their red golf carts, and even let us borrow a courtesy car when we were forced to stay the night. Btw, I recommend Shugrue's Steakhouse down by the London Bridge (cool area) for dinner. One of the best steaks I've ever had, and a great wine list. The London Bridge Resort was also a good stay.

One word - OUTSTANDING! From the line personnel to the nice lady in the FBO this place is the best. Friendly and helpful even to a little prop bug smasher (RV6). Greeted us at the tie down helped us tie down drove us to the FBO. Found out we were staying the night and offered the use of one of ther vans overnight and well into the next day. Moved my Plane from one of the city tiedowns ($11 a night) to one of their tie downs and no charge. They treated my plane as nicely as I do. With "AirBoss" fuel was $4.99 a gallon. My third time at Desert Skies and the already outstanding service, gets better each visit. I will always use this FBO. WALDO'S was good also. A little slow getting the food out but still a good place to eat. Not a bad $100 hamburger destination. I cannot say enough about the outstanding service at Desert Skies.

My husband and I planned a large flyin of Vans RV's on New Year's Day 2012. Desert Skies was VERY accommodating and gave EXCELLENT customer service. We had 25 RV's show up within one hour and the linemen were very good at leading the aircraft in and parking us in the same area. I highly recommend this FBO for future services, as we will return next year for the same event.

My wife and I spent a 3-day weekend in Havasu (11/25/11 through 11/27/11). We parked at Desert Skies, and I can only echo the praise given by all the other commenters. We were met by a lineman who marshaled us in, tied us down, brought our Hertz car out to the airplane, and even helped load and unload bags. Our fuel order was filled right away, and the full-serve fuel price ($5.29) was far less than most places' self-serve prices. Desert Skies' facility is pleasant and comfortable, and they have fresh hot popcorn (a nice snack after a long flight). We also dined at the attached Waldo's BBQ restaurant -- which was truly excellent. No question -- we'll be back!

Stopped in Oct 28th for fuel - Commander 112tc. Choose Desert Skies based on other AirNav recommendations, and they are all correct. Both line personnel and office staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. Fuel price was as advertised $5.25/gal, which is/was much better than the surrounding airports/FBOs. I will make every effort to stop in here again.

Fuel stop on Oct 5 enroute to CA and had excellent service from the guys at this FBO. Pilot Assisted fueling was a breeze - line guy brought the fuel truck by, helped hook up static line and gave me the nozzle for fueling. Avgas price was the best in the area, especially with AirBoss discount. I would highly recommend this FBO - very friendly and helpful personnel there.

Stopped in for 2 nights at the Hampton Inn. We were met just after landing and parked just in front of the FBO. Our baggage was offloaded and the courtesy car from Hampton Inn was called. Yvonne at the front desk gave us a nice gift as we were coming all the way from Denmark and had chosen Desert Skies, which we will be happy to do again. Just great service all the way.

This FBO is tops of any FBO I've been into, and I've been flying for over 40 years. This was the third time I've been into Desert Skies over probably the past three years and it was great to see that the FBO, service, and friendliness are still the greatest in aviation. Used one of their nice courtesy vans to drive into town. As they advertise, fuel is the cheapest around (especially coming from California, KPOC). When we returned to the FBO to depart, we and our Piper Arrow got great red carpet treatment from Andy who helped us fuel up for the 10¢/gallon discount. Can't wait to return to try Waldo's BBQ, which is immediately adjacent to Desert Skies.

Stopped in on the way back to California. They treated us more like family then customers. The folks there went way out of their way calling numerous local hotels trying to find us a place to stay. We landed pretty late in the day and they even let us take the crew car to the hotel for the night. Next time I'm in Havasu I'm stopping at Desert Skies. Hands down most friendly FBO I have ever been to.

Stop at Lake Havasu on my way to Sedona in early April 11. Compared to the other FBO (Air Center which has perhaps a nicer facility), Desert Skies is conveniently located (I.E. Next door) closed to a BBQ place. As a low maintenance SEP pilot, I would probably stop again at Desert Skies next time for that specific reason.

Landed at KHII & tried Desert Skies after deciding to bypass fueling at P20 (Parker) to the south ($4.79 at HII vs. $5.50 at P20). Sure glad I did! Excellent service, great facilities & friendly folks. I took 40 gallons, so with that kind of savings on fuel, the 12 minutes it took to fly up from Parker were more than paid back. If your plans call for the River or Lake Havasu, your best bet is Desert Skies! Can't recommend highly enough!

I've flown to HII on several occasions, most recently in early March, flying a Mooney M20 from California to Louisiana and every time received excellent service and usually the lowest fuel prices on my entire trip. Waldo's BBQ is the best BBQ I've had west of Texas and Desert Skies has a discounted rate for the local Hampton Inn (which is also excellent and has a free shuttle service to the airport).

Just arrived yesterday on our way to LA in our Phenom 100. What a great, fun stop. Watching a flight of 8 UH-60 BlackHawks take off was an added treat. The people at Desert Skies are just terrific. The antique fuel truck and pick-up truck on the ramp provide for a great photo backdrop, particularly if you have kids. And the price is right. Wish I could take them home with me... :)

Over the top service from the time I taxied off the runway. I saw a big red shirt and an even bigger smile waiting to greet me. They even parked me right in front as if I was the most important person at the airport. I went inside and was greeted again with big smiles and my choice of beverages, including free smoothies. I had them top it off and when I went to pay, I thought my plane was only burning half the fuel it usually does. When they told me the price, it was even cheaper than when I first started flying. Then they told me about the crown jewel, Waldo's BBQ, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I can't wait to come back. Thank you Desert Skies

Desert Skies should be the blueprint for how to run an FBO. I'm based in Kingman but come down to DS for fuel whenever possible since their prices are so much better, not to mention the service. The staff there always goes out of their way to make a pilot feel welcome. I was just there yesterday and neglected to call ahead for a courtesy car. When I got there they were all in use. They still managed to rustle one up for me on very short notice. Some of the nicest folks I've ever met in my aviation travels. I wish Desert Skies would take over the Kingman FBO!

They did it again! I love Lake Havasu. Once there, I called up 123.3 and the red golf cart was right there, and chocks for my nose wheel were positioned before I could get out of the airplane. Then the lineman offered us a lift right to Desert Skies front door. I popped inside and said we would grab lunch and be back to get (cheap) fuel before departure. Lunch next door at Waldo's is always great food, reasonable prices, and great service. They were packed on Labor Day! They serve excellent iced tea in huge Mason jars. Just right for a huge thirst. Back outside, it was 104° walking over to Desert Skies. Their two flavors of free slushies on the counter were temping but I opted for the cold bottles of water freely offered to us. After I paid for my fuel, the gal behind the counter grabbed her sunglasses and we all hopped onto a red golf cart for a courtesy lift back to my Mooney on the ramp. A very welcome service in today's heat. I will be back soon!

Great FBO for a fuel stop; not just cheap gas, but extra personal service. We made a quick fuel + lunch stop, which worked out great: inexpensive avgas, nice people, and great barbecue next door. Then we had an alternator failure on our way out and suddenly we were stuck in Lake Havasu for the night. Desert Skies helped us find maintenance, a hotel room, and were very generous in letting us borrow a crew car for the night. They helped turn a breakdown bummer into a fun extra night of vacation. We really appreciated their help.

I fly out of Kingman AZ a lot. My local FBO charges $.65 per gallon more than Desert Skies for 100LL. If any of my trips take me anywhere close to Lake Havasu I stop by for fuel and great service. Without reservation this is the best customer orientated FBO I know of. An incoming radio call on 123.3 always gets fresh coffee started. Lowest gas prices on the west coast. Top of your stop with a lunch at the new Waldo's BBQ. Great food and service.. Then fresh bottled water for your flight.
