Unfortunately, this is not a good fuel stop. The self-serve pump lacks a card reader and the airport is attended only occasionally. A list of telephone numbers is posted to call for service. But when I stopped there, my cell phone had no coverage and there's no landline phone in the airport building. So I walked to town -- about two miles one way -- and made about ten calls before I reached someone who could help. Also, fuel is cash only. I ended-up spending the night. The locals are friendly and the Riverside Motel was clean, comfy and reasonably priced. In short, the airport seems to be run for the locals and scant effort is made to accommodate transients, even though it receives FAA funds and, in theory, is part of the national air transportation system.
