Just wanted to say thank you to Albert Thornton. My wife and I stopped in to fuel up and was met by Albert. He explained that he tries to keep the fuel prices low as a service to pilots coming through, and, that he hopes the pilots will take the crew car into town and have lunch or dinner. If you like Bar-B-Q try JIMBOS. Go out of the airport gate turn right go to the first traffic light and turn right again and its about a mile on the left. One word of caution the road that JIMBOS is on is a one way street. (don't ask me why I mentioned this) Thanks again Albert for your service to general aviation pilots and to your community. Great stop!!

From Scott Sutor on 19-Oct-2008
Great fuel price. Courtesy car available. You cannot use your debit card. Tried 3 times, no fuel. Credit card did work.

From Douglas I. Kirkland on 14-Oct-2008
Homerville has worked hard to make flying affordable for all of us. Albert Thornton made a special trip to the airport to introduce himself to me and another inbound aircraft and has provided courtesy cars for lunch-ex to local eateries for flyers! Cheap fuel guaranteed, good country food, BBQ and courtesy cars! What more can we ask for? Thanks to Homerville for their dedication and special thanks to Albert!

From Kenneth Andrew on 19-Sep-2008
Dick Owens, I’d be glad to stop by and help install Unicom. Homerville is my fuel stop always. A great airport with great fuel price. Jimbo's BBQ is always worth a visit. The crew car is there and the keys are in the men’s bathroom. I do a lot of business in Homerville and always tell my customers what a great airport they have. Ken Andrew. Commander N377SB. From Phillip Greensite on 06-Sep-2008
The city manager of Homerville greeted us as we arrived during a quick pit stop to use the restroom. Very nice fellow, the best airport in the country, I've been to hundreds of airports, this is one of my favorites, I'll be back next time I am flying that area. Thornton is a great guy.

From Harry Bladow on 23-Aug-2008
Stopped for 100LL on 18 Aug 08 about noon. No one around but the SS pump worked OK and the price was as advertised. Thanks! Nice pilot facilities but saw no phone. The outside pay phone was dead.

From Dick Owens on 17-Aug-2008
OK, here's the deal. Look up friendly and accommodating in Websters. Next to the definitions you'll find Homerville Airport and Albert Thornton's pictures. Great little field (with instrument approach), FANTASTIC fuel prices, Southern Hospitality that's second to none, comfortable office / lounge / restrooms, wonderful community... I was so impressed with these folks that I'm donating them a unicom radio installation. Anyone want to meet me there to help install the radio and antenna?

From Peter Jensen on 28-Jul-2008
Gas price was as advertised, pump worked well, and airport lighting was excellent. Didn't need the courtesy car, but appreciated the Internet. Will definitely stop there again.

From Tony Sutter on 27-Jul-2008
Great little airport. The pumps always work and other than one incident when a jerk took his sweet time filling his 400 gallon trailer with AVGAS, I've never had to wait. I often fly between Florida and Atlanta. All the GA airports around Atlanta charge in excess of $7 a gallon so I always stop in Homerville to fuel up. We pilots really need to be supportive to the fine folks in Homerville. Take the time to stop off for some lunch and pump a little extra into this small community. Maybe in return they'll keep their prices low.

From David Schmutzler on 28-Jun-2008
Have been here before and commented, but I have to do it again. Thanks to this community for GA support with good avgas price as prices are these days & Fine runway for our 421. Terminal building has progressed since last stop.

From Alvin Hughes on 24-Jun-2008
Stopped in Homerville en route from Jekyll, and was amazed at the service here. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Thornton, who is also the city manager, and have nothing but nice things to say about him and the airport in general. The fuel price was great, and the use of the courtesy car was much appreciated. Thank you Mr. Thornton for supporting GA the way that you do.

From Kenneth Andrew on 01-Jun-2008
The car keys are always in the mens bathroom, the right hand drawer. HOE is the best airport in the USA, I buy all my fuel there even though I am based 60 miles away at ABY.

From Butch Malone on 30-May-2008
Friendliest airport in the U.S.A. bar none.

From Greg Gillis on 20-May-2008
Flew in this evening coming from Ferndina Beach. I just want to say thank you for such a nice airport. The restrooms were spotless (my wife's concern), new fuel pumps, and wonderful gas prices. The only problem I had was I could not find the courtesy car keys to go get dinner. But, that is minor compared to the service you provide to the GA community. I highly recommend this airport. Thank you again, I will be back. Greg Gillis N130RR Winder, GA

From Rocky Genovese on 05-May-2008
Albert knows how to make you feel "WELCOME". We have fueled our Cheyenne there several times and the service could not be better. We have sent several aircraft in from the Northeast en route to Florida and all have the same experience.

From Charles Proctor on 27-Apr-2008
Still the greatest fuel stop in the southeast. This time we brought pizza and wings (left over from the night before) and used the microwave to have a great (late) lunch in their comfortable office/lounge (using the keyless entry door).

From Fred Eisert on 21-Apr-2008
Great fuel stop on the way to and from Sun n Fun. In addition to the low fuel prices, they had brats, burgers and soft drinks. Computer with Internet access for weather.

From Bill Lardent on 29-Mar-2008
I called ahead to verify availability of fuel. They said they had lots and then gave me the codes to the gate and the FBO office, told me where the key was for the courtesy car. All this on the phone, when I landed the manager was there to great us, on his day off. All this and great fuel prices. I will be back.

From Michael Christie on 19-Mar-2008
I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by the extremely friendly City Manager. Sounds like there's a lot going on in the area, barbeque in particular. He mentioned the Inn at Still Pond and the fact they would come all the way to the field to get people. Will try to make time to go there next time through. Fuel system is up to date. It takes a little while for the receipt to print. Easy in and easy out.

From Tom And Julie McCall on 11-Jan-2008
My wife and I have been flying all over the Southeast for the last 20 years. This airport makes us feel welcome than any other airport we have been to. They have a nice FBO, loaner car and the lowest fuel prices we can find. Thanks Homerville….

From Craig Tankersley on 03-Jan-2008
Fantastic! Stopped for fuel on 12/26/07, great little airport with a new bathroom and the best fuel prices around. Local popped in while fueling to see if everything was going okay. Will be the new stop on the way to Fl.

From Dale A. Holbert on 27-Oct-2007
Great fuel stop. Self-Serve very easy to use and nice equipment conveniently located. Nice low price as advertised. Mr. Thornton greeted us, discussed future plans for the airport, and offered the use of the crew car. Terminal building construction progressing nicely and the building is neat, clean, and comfortable.

From Richard Lane on 11-Oct-2007
Flew in on October 10th to buy a load of fuel for the Maule. First time for us and was pleased to find new fuel station and easy access. Fuel price is not posted so you won't know the actual cost until your receipt prints ($3.53 today). Unattended but they do have a crew car and the terminal building is being re-modeled. City workers came along and helped us fuel and were very nice. Overall, a very pleasant experience here.

From Mark Kalupa on 29-Sep-2007
Great place to stop and top off your tanks, priced as advertised and great new equipment! Albert Thornton the City Manager even helped me fuel and gave me a tour of the improvements and future changes which were being made to the FBO. There is free WiFi and great A/C with a nice pilot lounge with a shower, which is almost complete. They were laying the tile while I was there and it looks like they will be finished soon.

From Kenneth Andrew on 22-Aug-2007
Great little airport. The self-service works easier than any I have used at other airports, nice new equipment. The office is not complete yet, but you can get in and use the equipment. Fuel was the advertised price. %1.67 per gallon less than my home airport of Albany, Ga. Thank you Homerville, I will be back often. Ken Andrew N377SB

From James Cole on 09-Jun-2007
Pleasantly greeted by the airport manager who offered us the crew car and helpful directions. My Cirrus couldn't tell the difference between his inexpensive avgas and name brands costing $1.00-$1.50 more at neighboring airports. The terminal is still under construction but already has functioning restrooms, and will be even better when a computer with internet access is available to check weather and file flight plans. A great place to stop.

From Kevin Smith on 30-May-2007
I stopped on the way back from Fort Myers for the cheapest fuel in the area. I got that along with a lot of assistance with a maintenance issue with the airplane I was flying. Many thanks to Mr. Albert Thornton and Rick Pearson who came out on a holiday to shuttle parts and give assistance! This will be a regular stop for me!

From John Hempel on 27-Apr-2007
They are in the process of building a nice new building just a few steps away from the fuel pump. The city manager was very friendly and helpful. He did everything but pump the gas, even though it is a self-serve. The fuel was cheaper than anything in the area. It is a great place to stop on the way to Florida!

From Jeff Williams on 22-Apr-2007
This is the best stop on the way to and from Florida. They really know how to treat people. Chicken, barbeque were all waiting for us after Sun n Fun. Really hit the spot (as I was starving) ate so much I thought I might have to do a weight and balance before we took off. Great fuel price, 24 hr card system great people what more could you ask for.

From Frank Trinkle on 22-Apr-2007
Ah well.. All good things must come to an end. KHOE has had some of the cheapest gas in the USA for a LONNNGGGG time. However, it appears that they have had to buy at significantly higher prices on the next tank, and the price is jumping by $0.44 per gallon this week. Still cheap, but no longer worth the round trip from VLD just to buy gas. Looking forward to the future, and a return to lower pricing!

From Chris Serra on 21-Apr-2007
Stopped in on my back from Sun-N-Fun. Easy in and out. Great price on fuel and the FREE food was great. Talked with the city manager, who met the flight. He was glad to see everybody there, just a great place to stop.

From Don Johnston on 19-Apr-2007
We need more airports like this one!!! Like many others here, the city manager came out and welcomed me to Homerville! Told me about the free bar-b-que, chips and water inside. USE THIS AIRPORT!!!

From Ron Calugar on 13-Apr-2007
Just what pilots ordered. Brand new! The self-service fuel works perfectly and at the best price in the southeast. While I was there, Albert Thornton, the city manager, came out and met me. He gave me his card and cell phone number and rolled out the southern hospitality red carpet. We will be seeing more of Homerville in the future. A great stop!

From Robert Beverly on 11-Apr-2007
I agree with all previous comments - GREAT FUEL STOP. Mr. Albert Thornton, the City Manager, sometimes greets arrivals in person. They are selling fuel AT COST as long as possible to encourage business. Even if unattended, the self-serve pump is easy to use, the building is accessible using the CTAF frequency on the entry keypad, and keys to the courtesy car are left inside. Southern hospitality at its finest!

From JD Carney on 30-Mar-2007
HOE is a great stop. Fuel as advertised at $2.79. Self-serve is simple and easy and BRAND NEW. Looks like a brand new airport services building is under construction. Valdosta APC works you in with no problem.

From Ken Andrew N377SB on 17-Feb-2007
Flew into Homerville on Feb 12th on business. It is a great airport. Fuel was as advertised and the easiest self serve pumps I have ever used. Great little airport.

From Steve Fleet on 12-Feb-2007
Made an unplanned urgent bathroom stop en route from FL to TN in a 182. Nobody around and FBO under construction, but bathroom was a 10. Very easy to get in & out of. Self serve fuel pump quick & easy. I would recommend.

From Tim Sweeney on 01-Sep-2006
Northbound, stopped to check on a fluid leak. Met by Albert on the ramp who showed me around the new construction. Stopped again on the way south for fuel - best price around! This will be a regular stop when in the area.

From Bob Brown on 28-Aug-2006
Self-Serve pumps, self-serve FBO, self-serve restrooms! Nice Quick-Turn in the making but it's still under construction! If they build it like Tupelo's self-serve, it'll be great!

From John Bierman on 24-Aug-2006
If you have any reason to need fuel in the area of KHOE, you need to stop at Homerville. Not only is the runway long and wide, the fuel price won't be lower anywhere else. Above all if you need any assistance it is readily available from Albert Thornton, the city manager, or any of the locals you will run across at the airport. On our way to the Bahamas my wife and I stopped at KHOE and found ourselves being met by Albert. He had tracked our flight to watch for our arrival. On the way home from the Bahamas we mad a point to overnight at Homerville. The only problem was that the key to the courtesy car wasn't immediately available. Berrien Sutton, a brother attorney, had heard us fly over his office and he decided to take a break from his Sunday work to see who had landed at the airport. He gave us ride to the motel and assured us he would pick us up in the morning. An hour or so later Albert shows up at our door to deliver the courtesy car to us! You will love Homerville and it's people.

From Terry Carbonell on 05-Aug-2006
We stopped at Homerville on July 20, 2006 on the way from Florida to Tennessee because of the fuel prices seen on AirNav. Best price around. New building is in the process of being renovated but all the necessities were there. Easy to use self-serve fuel, restrooms, etc. We can't wait to see the building done. This might just replace Alma as our regular fuel stop!

From David Schmutzler on 29-Jul-2006
The fuel price speaks for itself and that was why I stopped here! Remodeling of existing building is underway that will result in an excellent General Aviation Terminal. There is a car there to use. City Manager was aware of our arrival as a result of monitoring inbound traffic on the internet. He came out to the airport to welcome us. Fuel system worked perfectly.

From Steve Cantarutti on 29-Jul-2006
I came in IFR friday evening 7-28-06. The manager made a special trip to meet me even though I came unannounced - he had been tracking my flight online. I was offered a courtesy car and promised the cheapest fuel in all of Georgia. The fuel is 24/7 on card reader. The lounge (under construction, but with ac) is open 24/7 by CTAF keycode lock on the door. Great southern hospitality. Thanks.

From Bill Harrelson on 04-Jul-2006
Stopped by July 4, 2006. There is a brand new self serve fuel farm. The little terminal building is under construction. The runway is in good condition. Looks like this will be a good stop for cheap fuel.
