Flew in on Thursday Sept 8, 2011, quick service at the pumps, got to meet '' Kirby" the airport dog, was offered a car to go for lunch, friendly, helpful people, nice place.

Did an overnight trip to a Lake near HYR with some friends in a Piper Arrow over Labor Day and loved this FBO. Good, quick, friendly service and a nice facility. The golden retriever greeting was nice too! We will definitely use Hayward again in the future.

Our 5th vacation up to Hayward to try to catch the exclusive Muskie. Stayed at Pat's Landing which offers great accommodations, beautiful lakes views along with the bar right on the lake. For the first time, we ate at the original Famous Dave’s, which offers outdoor dining overlooking the lake...Which was stunning during the evening. FBO is good, however, they forgot the fuel the plane during our 3 day visit, but did waive the tie-down fees due to their error which was appreciated. Hope to be back in 2011!!

Nice overnight visit to this amazingly busy little airport. Several big biz jets were on the ramp. FBO called me on UNICOM during taxi in and told me where to park for tiedown. They had the airplane fueled and pulled out when I returned the next day. No extra fees with my fuel bill. Very friendly. FBO facility is basic but meets the needs of transient pilots.

Our 4th visit up to Hayward was a great time with outstanding weather - 80 degrees and sunny most of the time. Stayed at Johnson's resort - saw the Milky way at night; flying floatplanes and American Bald eagles during the day! Had dinner at Treelands resort, which has been around since 1928. You can eat inside or out and enjoy the view of the waterfront. We did not catch any fish, although, we tried hard. However, on the daily fish logs, people were bringing in large Muskies...One guy caught one that was 49.5 inches. The record is 69 lbs. Yeah, this is a fresh water fish!!
