Very nice facility. Friendly and helpful staff. Frank, the line guy called me on the UNICOM asking if I need any services. Fuel prices are fair. Got the crew car to get something to eat, and I also had a chance to meet Blair - probably the youngest and best looking airport manager in the whole state (if not the country) :). I will definitely be back.

Great place to land. Well maintained runways and nice clean facility. Frank met our plane and did all he could to make us feel welcome. Food close by and courtesy car(s) are older but very nice. Thank you Frank for all your help and sorry you had to fuel us in the rain. We'll be back.

Stopped for gas enroute to Milwaukee, and despite the fact that my Taylorcraft took less gas than the fuel truck probably did pumping it, Frank was courteous, friendly and helpful. One of the nicest municipal facilities around. Not the very cheapest gas around, but a good value for service provided. Thanks Frank.

On 08/31/2011-I flew into Greater Kankakee for a business meeting. I was greeted at the plane by a very friendly line girl who took care of the tiedown (good knots) and fueling was taken care of. They lent me one of the crew cars to get to the meeting and even though the A/C was broken it was better then walking. Overall great experience and well handled FBO with a very decent full service fuel price.

We stopped at KIKK enroute to Oshkosh. I was in my newly completed Experimental Lancair. Frank guided us to a parking spot and when I shut down the engine, Frank immediately said there was something loose in the spinner. I pulled the spinner with Frank's help and found a space had come loose. I cannot say enough great things about IKK and Frank. It is the perfect stopping point outside the Chicago area. All around, the service was superior. A highly recommended stop.

The staff was very friendly and the FBO is a nice facility. However, getting an IFR clearance leaving the airport is not easy. On the KIKK approach plates, there are two frequencies listed for the Kankakee radio rco: 121.5 and 122.2. I was at the arrival end of runway 4. I called on 122.2 there was no answer, so I tried 121.5 and was promptly told to get off the emergency frequency immediately and to call back on 122.2. I did this and received no response. Finally, I had to call the national IFR clearance number on my cell phone. All this took about 20 minutes while I was cooking in 90 degree heat and 90 degree humidity.

I was on an x/c trip heading home to Louisville, KY. I had to make a somewhat "urgent" landing when my oil pressure started to drop. Frank was the BEST! He gave me a courtesy car to go into town to calm my nerves and get a bite to eat after I saw my oil level was only 3 quarts!! Thanks again Frank! I will make this a nice fuel stop when I'm heading north again!

Greatly appreciated Frank's help in getting my Piper Warrior started. Frank instructed me how to pull the prop through backwards to clear out the excess fuel. Very grateful he showed me that procedure - no one else had ever shown me.

Coming back to MSP from Indy I diverted to IKK with engine trouble. Not a good day, but I couldn't have picked a better place to set the plane down. Frank did anything he could to help us out. Friendly locals in the FBO provided company for my supportive, but slightly shaken, girlfriend while Frank directed me to Dane over at Rotors and Wings, who immediately dropped an owner-assisted annual to troubleshoot the engine and find the fractured valve guide. When it was obvious we weren't flying home, Frank came through again after we were told by every rental agency in the area that they didn't have any cars on hand because of the spring break rush. Rather outraged by the situation, he made a "persuasive" phone call on our behalf and we were on the road within an hour. You simply won't find better service, and I'll actually go out of my way to buy gas from these guys when I'm in the area.

Landed here in a fabric airplane right before a heavy thundershower hit. A simple call ahead to UNICOM let Frank know we were coming. He had a hangar open for us ready just before the heavy stuff hit. Fantastic service, if you get a chance, land here!

Flew to IKK to visit friends on 9/20. Lineman greeted us before we exited the plane. Stayed 3 days. One of the $5/day ramp fees waived with fuel purchase. Airport provided tiedown ropes. Overall, a very positive experience. We will be back.

Very good service from the folks at the FBO. We arrived after they closed but they left the keys to the crew car so we could find them. Be sure to get directions to the hotels, you want to turn right when leaving the airport and get on the freeway north to the 2nd exit, about 7 miles. We experienced more of Kankakee than we bargained for when we turned left instead.

I am a VFR pilot and was trapped under IFR skies at KIKK for two days. Frank went way out of his way to help me tolerate the downtime (crew car, rental car help, lodging help, etc) and helped me get back on route ASAP. Simply a good, high quality operation!

Stopped in on July 24 enroute to Airventure, weather kept us from getting further north. We wound up with 12 pilots needing rooms for the night at the local Hilton Garden Inn, we were able to use the courtesy cars to shuttle back and forth for the evening and the next morning. Great service with friendly people. Stopped for gas again on the way home on July 31, same great service, and got to see the Collings Foundation B-17, B24 and P-51 to boot.

We stopped in for fuel in a Piper Arrow yesterday. They were repaving the ramp in front on of the main hangar and FBO. We were greeted by a lineman and were topped off quickly and efficiently. Forget calling the weather briefer, there is a weather briefing station across the street that accepts walk-ins. Highly recommended!

Stopped by with a friend in our Aeronca Chiefs on the way home from Oshkosh. In spite of buying barely enough fuel to make it worthwhile for Frank to drive the fuel truck out to us, he welcomed us, and treated very well, and even gave a few laughs. Great place to stop...Will visit again next we are passing through.
