The FBO was fine, however seven months after landing at Imperial we received an invoice for landing fees in the mail. The Airport Facilities Directory and other sources had no record of these fees. I will land elsewhere, when in the area. Response from Vivian Murphy, Imperial Flying Service Imperial Flying Service, Inc. does not now and has never charged a landing fee. The referenced invoice for landing fees is apparently being billed to you from the Imperial County Airport, which Imperial Flying Service, Inc. has no control over.

Imperial Flying Service does have a saving grace. Ruth is second to none in her customer service skills and a great person to talk with during long sits!

I fly in here once a month on average. The attitude of the staff is generally on the poor side. We pay a $50 ramp fee, every time we come in. One time I asked to use the crew car to run to Starbucks and was told if I didn't take fuel I could not use the crew car. If there was another game in town I would use it, I would say avoid this airport and FBO if at all possible.

While this isn't the busiest airport or most modern FBO, everyone at Imperial Air Service was very accommodating. I needed a rental car, and it was there and waiting. Fuel was fast, easy, and reasonably priced. The staff's attitude was good, and overall it was an excellent experience.
