As a former Royal Naval pilot settling down in the USA, with European JAR ATPL [A] and Flight Instructor certificate, to fly here in the States commercially, I needed to obtain all of the above, but of course under the FAA FAR AIM regulations. I was put in touch with Bob Hepp at Aviation Adventures, which was a stroke of luck and fate. He and his team at both Manassas and Leesburg airfields - the latter under the tutelage of Ray de Haan [a flying Dutchman] - did a magnificent professional job of steering me through the nuances of the rules etc on this side of the Atlantic that allowed me to pass FAA ATPL [A], CFI AMEL, ASEL and CFII exams in under 3 months of intense and yet pleasurable flight. All this, when the weather was a challenge and flexibility needed for the right aircraft to undertake the next part of the challenge. And on top of all that they had to get me up to speed on RNAV GPS and glass cockpit capabilities. All in all a terrific service. Thank you.

I've flown at a few flight schools and with a number of instructors, but when I started training at Aviation Adventures earlier this fall, I quickly appreciated the quality of the CFIs and the availability and choice of aircraft. The scenario-based training really helped hone my skills. By the time of my check ride, I felt well prepared for the oral and practical given the great instruction provided throughout my training. Best of all, they made flying fun. I highly recommend Aviation Adventures.

Aviation Adventures is simply one of the best and most professional places to not only learn to fly, but to become a truly great pilot. I have done my IFR and Commercial there and am now doing my Multi-Engine training. For those who seek the finest and most professional flight instructor, pick up the phone and call them and ask for the CFI Raymond de Haan. It will be the best thing you've done.

This is a first class operation. Everyone from my instructor, Chris Pesnell, to the chief pilot, Raymond de Haan, is there to help you learn. They make sure that you become a safe and competent pilot while having a lot of fun along the way.

Aviation Adventures is a FIRST CLASS operation - great planes, great people, and great instruction. I have used Av Ad to restart my flying experiences after being away from flying for 10 years. I needed to learn GPS, ADIZ/SFRA, get back to instrument current, etc, and I also got another rating along the way. The instruction was fantastic, and the quality of the airplanes is top notch. There are some many details that set Av Ad apart - I would definitely recommend Av Ad for any of your rental or instructional needs!

Aviation Adventures is a great organization to work with - friendly professional staff, high quality student pilot tuition, fantastic attention to safety, a super record of 'first time' passes for new pilots and a wide range of planes to fly - the complete offering makes learning to fly with Aviation Adventures a truly fun experience... One I would highly recommend to anyone. When you earn your private pilot certificate the Aviation Adventures experience is one you will want to continue as you move on to get your instrument rating. Aviation Adventures is 'first class' in the arena of pilot training. The two flight instructors Chris Pesnell and Raymond de Haan are very talented in their ability to teach you to be a great pilot - they are both 'highly recommended’!

I have moved around a lot, and tried many different flight schools and instructors. Aviation Adventures has been, by far, the best of all. All the way from my first adventure flight, being an amazing experience, to now flying frequently in many different aircraft of the large fleet they have. The instructors there are nothing but supportive. They are always fun to fly and learn with. Both of the instructors that I fly with, Chris Pesnell, and Raymond de Haan, are amazing teachers and pilots. Aviation Adventures will always be my first choice when it comes to renting planes as well as taking flying lessons.
