The gas quantity gage is behind the door of the yellow cabinet that houses the fuel hose. Remember to reset to zero before you start filling. Gas price is not posted but is competitive: SAF self-serve is cheapest in area at $0.18 cheaper, but ABQ is $1.40 more! Local bus/taxi has limited service hours, but will pick up at airport: call (505) 663-1763.

Excellent general aviation field. Best to familiarize yourself with the idiosyncratic traffic pattern: most importantly all landings on 27, all takeoffs on 9. Close-in transient parking is available. The airport is unattended on weekends, so parking fees are on the honor system: day $3, overnight $5, with a drop box outside the terminal. Self-serve 100LL is among the cheapest in NM. The terminal is accessible to pilots 24 hrs using the first three digits of the AWOS freq. on a combination lock. There's a flight planning room and computer along with WiFi in there. Convenient rental car service from Budget with a counter staffed every day and plenty of cars on site. If your destination is the town, you don't need a car, as it's so close. Plenty of outdoor stuff to do nearby, including Bandolier Nat’l Monument and many hiking trails. Pajarito ski area is only a 15-minute drive. Makes a nice weekend destination.

There is no posted price or gage to determine fuel added. I did get a printed receipt which often is not the case with these SS pumps. You would be in trouble if a specific fuel load less than full was required as there is no way to determine fuel added until it's on the plane and paid for.

If you are an "interesting-runway-connoisseur, " this place is worth a visit. Strip is located on an E-W oriented mesa. (Prevailing winds are out of the south or southwest, so count on xwinds) FUEL INFO/TIPS-- sure, it's expensive, but what's new? The self serve is at the extreme west end of the runway/airport. If you go to the fuel tanks right after landing (prior to shut down), then you probably won't need to restart in order to get to the transient tie-downs, as they are downhill (to the east). Best Western Hilltop has good rates, friendly service, and is easy walking distance (0.4miles).

Did fly out once via Coyote aviation C172. Pricey gas though.
