I diverted to Lake City due to weather in Tallahassee on that same weekend and had a great experience with the staff at this FBO. They made my passengers and I feel right at home while we waited for better conditions. I did, however, notice a Beech Baron leaking a significant amount fuel from one of the left inboard vents onto the ramp. I reported it to the staff there and they made every effort to stop the leak and notify the owner, to no avail. The previous comment was made on the assumption that this was a fuel theft. That was obviously not the case and the FBO at LCQ has earned my praise for providing great service and hospitality.

We will never stop here again. We arrived "too late" to get fuel despite posted hours, but as we were staying 2 nights allowed fuel up while away. About 25 gallons mysteriously "vanished" from one tank. The airport manager blamed the plane, but had not viewed the tapes. We are experienced A&P owned and flown and 3 other mechanics at other airports agreed: plane not at fault! Flyer beware: land elsewhere!

Flew the company Cheyenne into Lake City on 30 April 2008. This is a great stop and one that should be supported. The fuel prices are below average and the service is way above average. Tom and Bob were very helpful and pleasant to work with. A courtesy car was available for our passengers. This is the kind of FBO we need to support.

Late update to my previous comments. Spoke with manager about the fuel situation and he corrected it and offered an apology for the misunderstanding. Good place to do business as they listen to your comments.

Stopped here for fuel on the way to Sun 'n Fun. Expected high fuel prices and that we would have to wait until we got to Sun 'n Fun to get something to eat. As it turned out, we found the cheapest fuel of our trip and we were treated to a complimentary lunch. Great stop. Thanks Tom and Bob!

We stopped here for gas on 11-1-07 and were greeted by Woody. Shortly, we knew everything about the area including the restaurant across the street. Food was very good country cooking, good service and reasonably priced. If you need a fuel stop in north central Florida, or if you just want some fried chicken stop in Lake City. The people will make it a good experience for you.

Landed at this airport recently to refuel and continue to Kissimmee, however due to the weather we had to leave our plane at Lake City and continue our trip by rental car. I don't think I have ever been anywhere including cruise ships where I have been treated so well. The entire staff was extremely helpful and attentive. We waited about 45 minutes for the rental car and by the time we left we had been made to feel as though we were part of the Lake City Airport "Family". When we returned 5 days later, it was just the same. This is a fabulous FBO!!!!!!!!!! STOP HERE TO REFUEL AND SOME GOOD CONVERSATION!!!!!! ASK FOR JONOTHAN, HE'LL MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED!!!

Stopped on 5/26/07 and got some fuel, when paying on the 27th the price had jumped to $4.53 a gallon. I asked about the "Guaranteed" price of $4.36 and Bob said that there is a gray area with that and I would have to pay the new amount, even though I bought gas the day before. Not the best way to run the airport, best get fuel elsewhere or call first.

Unplanned stop to use the restroom around noon. Directed to a parking spot and fuel request brought the fuel truck to the plane promptly. Had a nice lunch at the country dinner across the street. Friendly folks and fuel price as advertised. Will plan on stopping next trip.

From Jack Rickard on 16-Feb-2007
Unbelievable. He should have worn a mask. We landed at 5:30 PM in a Twin Comanche. "Woody" met us at the door at 20 minutes until 6 and asked us what we wanted. Fuel was of course our reply. "It ain't going to happen." was his response. Why not? Because I close it up at 5:30. We pointed out that the hours were posted on the door as 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. "Well, you're not getting any fuel here today.... Unless you want to pay the $50 fee to have me come out...."" You're ALREADY out. It's twenty to six. Well, you can pay the $50 or go without fuel until 8:00 AM.... I have NEVER had such an experience of blatant highway robbery at an FBO. I never DID see a gun. I have the receipt, with the $50, and it has the time posted as 18:07. That's the time of the AMEX charge AFTER he finally got the truck out and fueled the airplane. FREINDLY? COURTEOUS? Thanks Woody.

To Craig and Jack. I have been unable to track either of you down by tail number. Please contact me directly (386) 719-5766 or call Debbie Adams at the airport (386) 752-1066 to arrange for our refund of charges. Please stop in again.

We visit here regularly in both our Citation II & CJ1 and the service is fantastic! About the friendliest folks we've met and great prices too. Thank you very much!

Lake City Municipal Airport - LCQ is a towered airport where the Towers normal hours are from 8am to 4:30 pm. MON to FRI. HOWEVER tower can be open any hour any day (depending on Heavies coming / going at Timco) so the FAA requires that aircraft follow CTAF procedures ("circled C" on Jacksonville chart) and always communicate on tower frequency even when tower is closed. Hope this alleviates any confusion anyone may have, as there are not many A/P, s around like this.

From Dave Goodwin on 23-Oct-2006
FBO counter person explained that they monitor the tower frequency and not Unicom when the tower is unoccupied. There were also plane-to-plane traffic advisories on the tower freq. instead of Unicom. Clean facility, vending machines, and restrooms.

Sun. 7/21 Typical Fl wx stood between Belle Glade and us. Storms building, kids cranky - looking for somewhere to land to beat the weather. KLCQ loomed ahead-tower closed (it was 6pm) announced & landed. FBO heard us on radio and waited for us. We refreshed then decided to spend the night. He gave us # to Holiday Inn we made reservations & the attendant locked up & drove us to H/I. He was helpful from minute one, though quiet (not much of a talker). We left early Mon AM before FBO was open so we didn't get to say "thank you". Thanks guys - and we didn't even buy fuel. WE will come back again, next time with empty tanks (I might even bake a pie)

I've been meaning to do this for some time now. I'm in and out of Lake City 2-3 times a month weekdays & weekends and I always get courteous, friendly and helpful service. Weekends there are only one attendant on duty, but they are always TOPS with me.

From Ryan Williams on 09-Jul-2006
I can't agree more with the last comment. No one answering on the Unicom, no one to tell me where to park my plane. And when I got in, all the guy did was just glance over at us from his computer. He did not say a word and acted disgusted when I requested a top off. I will not come back to this place and advise any one else considering flying into hear to avoid it.

From Kevin Cofield on 01-Jul-2006
I stopped in on June 26, 2006 to pick up an airplane for a customer of ours and was only met by a rude person behind the counter. I bought fuel and oil and still received no kindness or a smile. Bad experience for the first time visit, as well as the last for me and my customer.

From C Holly on 25-Apr-2006
Bob and Allison always give us good service and are very helpful with any of our passenger and crew needs.

From Robert Girdler on 13-Apr-2006
My wife and I stopped there on April 10 to take advantage of the great fuel prices. It's a great little country airport. Inexpensive fuel, friendly controllers and a neat, clean FBO. What more could you ask for?
