The friendliest group of folks in Texas. Ramper was very attentive and the restaurant is tops for burgers. Wait staff there really made you feel welcome. Check the boards, as there is a fajita lunch served on the 2nd Sat of the month sponsored by a local EAA chapter. Will have to stop in sometime for that.

Arrived in a Robinson R44 in the rain. One of the fuel guys came out with umbrella to assist with the short walk to the terminal building. Good flight planning computers and free WiFi for your laptop. The cafe is excellent for burgers, burgers, or burgers.

After 10 hours of flying and eating granola, this was the oasis I needed. Unicom was responsive and line staff was waiting to guide us in. No self-serve, but they were efficient and careful with my "small bird". The Diner had a great burger and homemade pies and brewed tea. Not the usual heated up frozen food we've come to expect. Will definitely stop in again, the locals love it too.

Lufkin is one of my favorite places to fly in & have THE BEST burgers in Texas. I've had lots of "fly in" burgers but the wonderful ladies that cook on that grill there are the best! Do yourself a favor & give LFK a try next time your looking for a place to fly to & you will be impressed for sure.

Nice facility if you need to get into the Lufkin area. They have a "fuel office" as opposed to the traditional FBO with full services. (In other words, plan on getting your maps and pilot supplies elsewhere.) We arrived at night, and had no problem parking. Part of the building is left open 24 hours a day. When we were ready to depart, getting fuel was fast and easy. It could have been me, but the only quirk I had was that the phone in the flight planning room also services the restaurant. So your call to flight service may be interrupted. (Mine was) Overall, it's a nice place, and we will be back.
