Always great service at Leadville Airport. We were on our way with a courtesy van in minutes for an early breakfast in town. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and the gas prices can't be beat.

I contacted Bob at Leadville-Lake County Airport on Saturday prior to my arrival on Sunday (January 1st). Bob was so helpful in making rental car arrangements and giving up a little of his "day off" to stop out at the airport after we landed. I would rate his effort as a perfect 10! They stored my airplane in the hangar (20 bucks per night) and Bob plugged it in the night before my departure. It doesn't get any better than the customer service I received at this airport. I'll definitely be back again!

N8163F landed here Dec. 18 and departed Dec. 20. I could not have asked for better service. Not only are fuel prices excellent, my aircraft was hangared for only $20 a night and that included an engine preheat the day of our departure. The town of Leadville is a wonderful, quaint, beautiful destination. I look forward to returning in the Summer for some hiking.

Great fuel stop, in my C414. The self-service fuel facility is great: it allows large quantities to be authorized on a single credit card transaction, and the hose is nice and long. The guys both came out to help me with fueling, even though the temperature in the AWOS was -6 C and it was snowing slightly. After a fill-up of fresh coffee for my thermos, I was on my way. Very highly recommended, on a day that is cold enough for your airplane to deal with the 9900 ft elevation of what apparently is the highest public airport in the US!

Flew into Leadville for the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race. Gas $3 a gallon less than Aspen. Courtesy car and car rental are very easy to access. Got my certificate and a coffee cup. Density altitude makes departure a little challenging, but airport location on top of the hill is a big plus. Great experience!

Overnight at Leadville on July 1st. Both Bob and Mike were friendly and helpful. Thanks to Mike especially for his help. He even refunded the gas money for the gas we put into the courtesy van. When we arrived all the hotels in town were booked solid. Drove 23 miles to stay in Copper Mountain resort. Beautiful drive and beautiful place. What a wonderful experience.

Leadville is a beautiful place and an airport worth patronizing. The airport manager showed great customer service and the fuel price was much lower than what I pay in the northwest.

Today I checked another item off my aviation bucket list. Every aviator is aware of Leadville's place in history. While there is no restaurant on site, the service and friendliness of the FBO is second to none. Michael was able to regale us with not just aviation lore; he enlightened us with why he takes personal pride in representing Leadville. After listening to him, had I not other obligations, I would have stayed for a couple of days. While I live on the east coast, I want to spread the word that this is an airport worth altering one's route to visit.

Stopped there today while in the area doing some mountain flying training. Brandon was fantastic, is going to mail me my certificate that I left on the counter. Bring your wallets, they have t-shirts and such also. How often do you end up at someplace as notable as the highest airport in North America.

Leadville Airport is now managed by Zachary and the attention to detail shows. He has got his act together and is working on growing this airport. Fuel could be some of the cheapest in Colorado. Bathrooms are clean and always open. If you need something, talk to Zach or Kristie and they'll take care of you. Great service!

Flew in to KLXV on 8/23/09. The Self Service Fuel was cheap, and the heated bathrooms were open for business. It was Sunday and no one was there, but according to the signs we could have called if we needed something. I left just as it was starting to get dark, the runway is fairly long, but based on the size of the surrounding mountains, I do not recommend departing KLXV after dark unless you have an aircraft able to climb fast enough to stay well clear of terrain on the departure.

We stopped at Leadville today just for the experience and we were greeted by the airport manager, Debbie Benson. What a delightful lady. We chatted for nearly an hour before the winds looked to be coming up and we had to depart with certificates in hand. Oh, and the price of gas ... That is not a misprint. I really was $2.00/gallon. We took 15 gallons and cried because we dared not take more. Thanks for a great stop, Debbie. It is people like you who make general aviation the greatest!

The new airport manager, Debbie could not be nicer! We flew a Citation Mustang in for some high altitude work and Debby was unbelievably helpful--thanks again! The scenery is spectacular and the town picturesque. Just be careful about density altitude, gusty winds, and weather and you will have a wonderful time in Leadville. You will even get a certificate for landing at the highest airport in the continental US. A++, Highly recommended.
