Nice GA terminal that isn't always manned. You need to buy fuel from the self-service tank to gain access to the terminal but the tank is only 20 yards from the terminal door. And self-serve prices are good. Rental car companies don't know where the terminal is but you can call ahead (Enterprise) and ask them to drop it off at H10, the FBO that is ten yards from the GA terminal. Only six tie downs, four in front and two "stashed" down the line of hangers about 25 yards away next to the perimeter fence.

Excellent facilities & cheapest gas in the area make this a great stop. In addition, Melissa (airport administrator) is VERY responsive to questions & comments. I'll be back! Why only 4 instead of 5 stars? Two big limitations: A) only 6 total tie-down spots--if those fill, you're on your own w/ one of the FBOs (w/ Signature's fuel price more than $2/gal over the city's price, I didn't even ask about ramp fees); Melissa assured me they only fill up during NASCAR or NCAA events. When I got there, you guessed it--all full (fortunately, one person left shortly before I went elsewhere). B) The parking set-up is not at all obvious. As a first-timer, I had no idea where the spots were. There are 4 spots just outside the terminal (easy enough to spot from the fuel pit); the other 2 are all the way down the hangar line (A-Box Hangars), along the fence. The diagram on their web site makes it clear enough if you know what to look for--but this newbie didn't, and it took me a bit to figure out.

Price as advertised. One of the nicest "urban" airports I've ever been to. Clean, friendly, and nice view of downtown.

Nice new terminal and fuel facility. Great view of downtown on appr/dep combined with friendly control tower and 100LL price among the lowest in the area should make this a GA destination/fuel stop.

Cheap self-serve fuel. If you buy fuel the door lock code for the terminal building appears on the receipt. There's no one inside, but there are restrooms, places to sit, what appears to be kitchen facilities, etc.

The GA Terminal has been finished and is in excellent condition. It has a flight planning room, clean restrooms with a shower, a pilot's lounge, a soda and an ice machine. The fuel pumps are self-serve and are in great condition, but it takes an extremely long time to get your receipt..... So walk over to the GA terminal, go to the restroom or grab a soda, and when you get back the receipt will be waiting for you. Melissa Noble is the Airport Administrator and is very helpful if you are in need of a hangar.

The city fuel pumps are a great option (two 100LL pumps). Prices thus far are impossible to complain about and a rare find for an airport like MKC. The city's self-serve pumps are located on the west side of the airport, north of the control tower and hangar 6A. More specifically, just north of building "G" in the t-hangar complex. Be aware that no other services available at that location. You will need to taxi to Hanger 10 or EB for traditional FBO services. My advice is to check with both FBOs to determine the most favorable terms for tie-down and/or ramp usage. A city GA terminal is under construction east of building "A" in the t-hangar complex. My understanding is that it will not be a full service FBO, but will have bathrooms, computers and basics that piston aircraft operators need for a stop. Even when the GA terminal is done, there is not significant tie-down space in this area. One of the FBOs still may be the best bet for an overnight place to park.
