I was disappointed by my experience. We are a part 91 operator. We flew our Citation M2 to Manitowoc to attend a funeral for a local that passed away unexpectedly. We were there for about 2 hours and got charged $200 ramp fee. This could have been waived with the purchase of 200 gallons or more, which would be fueling half tanks. We were not greeted or parked. Had to grab our own chocks. Don't know why small town airports do this to small GA. The FBO was very nice, and the gentlemen that were working were very friendly once we got inside. It may just be me, but I thought that was a little over the top. Overall, the airport is really nice. However, probably won't be back if we're charged that much.

MTW has a beautiful self-serve fuel facility. I was there on a Sunday, when the FBO is unattended, but was able to fill my Debonair with autogas, and park my airplane in a marked spot on the ramp, and use the bathroom facilities, entering the marked door using the Unicom frequency. I rode my bike on the Mainer's Trail, six miles along the Lake Michigan shoreline to Two Rivers. A beautiful ride!

Great support from airport management during the pre-Oshkosh T-34 Association formation workup 21-23 July 18. Never had to wait for fuel and folks were very friendly. Thanks!

Flew in this morning for breakfast. Taxied to the south ramp. A couple airplanes got stuck in the snow on a major taxiway!! Someone got a shovel from a hangar elf and shoveled a pathway. What's the deal with not plowing a taxiway?? The snow was a week ago!! Airport manager must not care.

Response from Gary Robinson, Airport Manager/Parks Superintendent, Manitowoc County Airport
Peyton Metzel, I am sorry you had a bad experience in Manitowoc, but to insinuate that the manager does not care and that you got stuck on a major taxi way is false, this is from a pilot that gets stuck on the far south parking ramp area that has plenty of room to turn around! Some times equipment breaks down and we do the best that we can to get the snow removed. I can assure you that all our taxiways were clear and open, if there was a problem then you should check your NOTAMS. Where you were near the restaurant is south ramp parking area and there was plenty of room. Pilots are in charge of their actions. No one else had any problems.
