This place is a dump with poor staff that just does not care about the customers. Do not waste your time going to Jacksonville Flying Service.

Jacksonville Flying Service, unfortunately, needs a better facility. The "crew room" at the FBO consists of a small room with no windows, a couch, 2 chairs (not recliners), and a coffee pot where a TV should be. There are no minimal amenities at this facility, and their fuel is overpriced for this type of location. The service is spotty...They didn’t seem to care much about being prompt and courteous - maybe since they're the only game in town.

I flew in Saturday evening 2-16-08 all the way from my home airport 8A6 near Charlotte. I was greeted with great service. There was an issue with the runway lights and the FBO informed me by radio before I was even in the pattern. They also provided progressive taxi (unsolicited) to the FBO...Be careful not to taxi through the airline ramp like I did! Jacob was there to guide me to a parking spot and help me with my baggage. Very courteous and friendly service. Tie down for my Cherokee Archer was $8/night. I didn't buy fuel. The have a nice pilot lounge, planning room, and lots of aviation books, photos, etc. I'll definitely return.

I was quoted a tie down fee of $8.00/night or $4.00/ night with fuel purchase. This was for a Cessna 172.

Ramp fee is now $15 plus $15 for overnight parking for a Van's RV-6 aka a very small airplane. On the plus side, the receptionist was helpful and I got to watch a V-22 making touch and goes.

We operated out of Jacksonville Flying Service for about 1 week. The service was almost always prompt and friendly. The computer at the FBO for weather was hit-or-miss as far as Internet access. This is a busier airport than one would think on first glance. The FBO hours of operation were somewhat limited but the call-out fee is only $25. Several rental car options on the field. I would avoid the restaurant in the terminal building - $6 for a not-very-good grilled cheese sandwich!
