We diverted here for weather and found a phone number to call since we needed gas and wanted to over night here. Lee (the manager) flew in from his ranch and got us the county courtesy car and helped us find our way into town for the night. Excellent facility in this very nice airport. Lee personifies friendly small-town, Midwestern hospitality. Construction mentioned by a previous post was complete on our visit.

This is a GREAT little airport. The terminal building is fairly new and very well maintained. Nice clean bathrooms. I was forced down late on a Sunday afternoon due to a snowstorm, and not quite sure what to expect. The airport manager interrupted his New Year's weekend entertaining and ran right over here to the airport to assist me. He helped me get my plane into a heated hangar and then offered me the crew car, then directed me to some restaurants and motels. Note: There is currently some ramp construction right in front of the terminal building that you have to watch for. It should be finished in the Spring. There is about a foot of snow on the ground today, which is very unusual for this area, but the snow makes the construction markers difficult to see. I am going to make PPF my regular fuel stop every time I fly to Texas.

Fantastic Airport! I stopped there a few days ago to refuel our Piper Seneca and were greeted immediately by some of the most friendly staff I've ever met at an FBO. The FBO is spotless, well maintained, and virtually brand new. Upgrades are being made to the runways and taxiways which allow for smooth ride on the ground in the aircraft. The airport manager is incredibly friendly and has a little corgi who is eager to greet anyone who stops by (the corgi loves a good stomach rub). I would definitely head here for a stop if you are in the area to refuel and relax in a nice quiet environment.
