Mixed feelings about Michigan Aviation. We have been using them for several years when we traveled to the area. Long or short stay they are always very attentive and do caring things like put our airplane in the hangar without us asking when bad weather is approaching. What caught me off guard this last visit is that they now charge $25 per night tie down fee. In the past, if we purchased fuel there was no charge at all. I do not mind paying but $25 per night for a single engine Cessna seems a little steep. I was told that the new management now requires that they charge. That is my only complaint, otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend using Michigan Aviation.

The excellent interaction with this FBO was on Thursday when I called inquiring about hangar space for the weekend. They asked what kind of airplane (C-182) and how long. I wasn't sure if I was going to depart Sunday evening or Monday morning, but everything was "no problem". CSR/Line Staff met me in the pouring rain on Friday afternoon and within 10 mins of me shutting down the engine, the airplane was in the hangar. I called about 90 mins before departure, requesting the airplane be topped off and on the ramp. Again, they were pulling the airplane up on the line just as I entered the building. ATC was V E R Y easy to work with, as I had to deviate around some storms on the approach. IFR clearance back to home base was a non-event and an easy taxi was the icing on the cake. Do yourself a favor and stop here. They may not have the cheapest fuel on the field, but the best customer service.

I called around to find a certain type of Aeroshell oil and reached a person named Chris at Michigan Aviation. After asking if they had the specific type, he replied yes. I asked if they could set some aside under my name, but he said they'd take care of it when I got there. After a 40-minute drive, I arrived and Chris showed me the list of oils they had, none of which were of the type I asked for. Someone was more concerned with making a sale rather than listening to what the customer needed.

Once again Michigan Aviation has hit a home run. I’m not based in Michigan but when I fly to Detroit PTK is where I go and Michigan Aviation is the FBO I use. I honestly think they are the best FBO in the entire state. Steve is amazing and is usually one step ahead of you with what you need and when you need it. Steve is a true professional. Everything from fueling to having a crew car waiting for you, they are the best!

I went to Michigan Aviation on a recent trip to PTK, flying Charter some days can be long. After landing and deplaning we were offered a crew car and directions to a local establishment for lunch. We were fueled while we were at lunch and settled the bill. While waiting for our passengers. Steven offered coffee, while talking about how I liked my coffee he planned out how to brew the coffee to meet my tastes. It was very personalized service for a cup of coffee. How much more for servicing and working with passengers? Well run, Personal service attentive service
